7.29  Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people should try several different jobs before they take a long term career?

Career development is an important step for many youngsters socialized.In the society, some dilemmas arised when people consider different job opportunities. While a lot of people hold the opinion that youngsters should fix on one job instead of trying different ones claim that taking many jobs wastes too much time and energy that is an unwise option in the fierce job market. However, in my opinion, before taking a long term career, different jobs benefit youngsters, which allow them to gain working experiences, to unearth themselves, and to enrich their knowledge.


Considering the reality, it is difficult for youngsters to find their desired jobs after graduation. So gaining working experience from several jobs is an essential way towards the desired job. When people make a decision in the process of hunting jobs, several factors, such as high salary, potential promotion and comfortable working place，are important. However, the companies satisfied with all the factors mentioned above, are inclined to find experienced workers with a good understanding of a special field and successful working experiences in the former company.Compared with standing an unwanted and boring job for a long term, people are willing to take several jobs to acquire enough experience for the preparation of the desired one. For example, the working experience in restaurant helps my sister to become a famous food-writer.She is really enjoy her work now and very thankful her former work in the restaurant.


In addition, many youngsters are lack of knowledge of working experiences. Taking several jobs encourage them explore their own interests. Sometimes youngsters are blind of their careers, jobs are lessons to help them find the fit job, make clear the aim of work and identify the benefits they want to obtain from works. Moreover, their goodness and weakness expose in the process of taking various jobs. My friend, Emily, she is an excellent graduate from Beijing University, her dream is to be a biologist, yet after working as a biologist in a biological institute, she quickly got bored because of the tiring environment and boring work itself. She got to know herself in the working process, and changed several jobs then. Finally she is satisfied being an editor in an environmental magazine and get pleasure from this work.


Moreover taking several jobs can broaden the scope of knowledge and get a better understanding of the society that would surely benefit the lifelong. The whole world changes so rapidly, working conditions do the same. Being keen on one job narrow your view that makes you less suitable with the unstable world. Chances like to visit people, who have more working experience and knowledge from various aspects.


In conclusion I believe that gaining experience from different jobs before pursuing a long and stable career is beneficial and indispensable.

With the development of the society, we have many ways to know a country, some hold the opinion that the best way to understand a country is reading the newspaper or viewing the magazine claim that words on news papers and magazines depict directly the really look of a foreign place. However in my opinion, reading news papers or magazines just accounts for one method to know one side of a new country, but not the best choice.
The most important reason is that information on the news papers and magazines are indirect experience ,the limited describing content may partially mislead the readers of the real situation of an unknown nation. For example, the the chosun iibo, which is a famous newspaper in South Korea, people in South Korea hold a hostile attitude towards the North Korea, including the journalists. Hostility poses directly on the pages. If you are accustomed to read this newspaper to acquire information, probably the one-sided articles are the sources of your bad impression of North Korea. As we known, the page also limits the number of articles we could see, to expect the newspaper or the magazine tell you the wholesome of truth is not wise enough, instead, they just pick up their own preferences in front of readers. If you are favorable to know a country by newspapers or magazines, Before you start to read, you should warn yourself that what acquired from the newspaper or the magazine is just one saying, not itself.
In addition, as globalization increasingly sweeping the media, including newspapers, magazines, televisions ,and so forth, mislead your view of a new place by their similar promotions and preferences. Although a fashion magazine in U.S have little difference with the counterpart in Hong Kong, the two places have divergent cultures and diverse living styles. the two fashion magazines might put the same world-famous Hollywood actress on the covers, .Perhaps you are disappointed that the world becomes boring for no difference from place to place. However the reality may be not so, when you taste the Rickshaw noodles in Causeway Bay in Hong Kong, when you go hiking in Lantau Island, when you talk with the Hong Kong people on the any street in Hong Kong , you can not come to the conclusion that Hong Kong makes no difference with other parts of the world. Magazines enlarge the imagination of a new country but not the best guide when you want to understand that.
Although newspapers and magazines somehow tell you different kinds of stories you could not experience, show the gorgeous pictures of the landscape you could not go by yourself, and describe the local life you have no chance to know. It is too harsh to say that magazines and newspapers are better than others. Magazines could not compare with a wonderful vacation to experience the real life of a new country. Newspapers have no advantage with computers in the field of collecting the whole information of any country. Thus I believe the newspapers and magazines are the best ways to know a new country.

Everyone witnesses the boom development of economy and personal life from Industry Revolution, when we need to make a career choice in such situation. the majority are inclined to make the perfect job to make life better. Some cynical people hold the opinion the job provided a higher salary but less vacation time outweighs the counterpart with more rest and less pay. However, everyone has different opinions about ideal careers. My preference is adopting a more relaxing job, maybe the salary is not decent.

An important question arises when we talk about money, could money bring happiness? The common opinion, the more money we earned, the happier we felt, is not always right. Admittedly money as the representative of the wealth is important in same occasion, It is so frustrated that people are evaluated only by money. Enjoying the whole period from birth to death seems closer to everyone's dream and happiness. Money is just a mean to fulfill people's wishes and desires. Suppose that vacation can bring more enjoyable moments to color our lives, why not just accumulate the wealth but forget the goal that you pursue.

In addition, more vacation time permits us to do what we are interested in, we also can spend a lot of time with family members and friends. Thus the job with more vacations actually benefits both our mental health and the relationship with others. For me, I enjoy the moment talking with masters in the book, I can not forget the view of Mekong River sitting on the ship board, and I cherish the whole afternoon fishing with my father at the Lake District. Furthermore, vacation is not contradicted with working, but having a relaxing vacation can be helpful to the work.. People are not machines, from mental or physical perspective, we should take time to rest. More vacation time is not only providing an outlet to relax or escape the hardship of the work, it is also a period that you can reflect your work and life. What you learn from work, what you did not do well before, and how to improve the recent situation. All the questions need us to think and clarify our future development. Losing or ignoring such process, you would confuse about relationship of work and life as the time passed.

In conclusion, when the quality of life, and personal values taken into consideration, a job with more vacation time but a low salary appeals me more than a job with a high salary but less vacation time.

However, I posit firmly that children should learn art and music at very young age, which helps children to broaden their minds, to express inner emotion, and to improve the academic performance.

If children learn art and music at very young age, many diverse and beautiful masterpieces will be exposed in front of them. Although some hold the opinion that students should not take part-time jobs claim that they should concentrate their time on study, rather than doing other things. However in my opinion, part-time jobs benefit the students to enrich practical working experiences, to cultivate social communication skills, and to learn independence.

The most important point is that students can acquire rich experiences by taking diverse part-time jobs that benefit them to fit their future jobs more easily than students without such experiences. Take me for example, I took a part-time job in a news website when I was a university student, the part-time job gave me an excellent chance to apply the theories I acquired in the university. I realize the importance of responsibility to be an editor, and accustomed the life working in media. Moreover, this pat-time job strengthened my resume when I applied for a job after my graduation.
The good reference for the part-time job helped me maintain a competitive edge in job market. Thus the part-time job stands a significant position for students’ future development.

In addition, socialization is an essential step for children to become adults. Part-time jobs can teach students the social communication skills and the ability to cope with difficulty issues. Students have little chances to enter society, and to interact with different kinds of people. In the burgeoning era of information from all over the world, we are exposed at hundreds of television programs and movies. Some hold the opinion that movies and televisions made in one’s own country outweigh the counterpart made in foreign countries claim that domestic movies and television programs are easy to be understood and accepted; there are no gap between the audience and programs. However, in my opinion, foreign movies are more attracting to audiences.

The most important reason lies in the quality of the movies and programs themselves. Compared to poorly directed movies and boring television programs. People are inclined to choose the high quality of some foreign movies and television programs. The survey shows that ninety percent of domestic movies are lack of creativeness. People want to seek entertainment and risky from movies when they are away from tedious work. It will be disappointed that people spend their leisure time on a sleepy movie, for the reason that numerous low-qualified domestic movies have already disheartened the audience. However, some of the foreign movies and television programs, integrated with more advanced technology, are more fascinating, like Avatar, using three-dimensional effect to bring intense visual impact to us

In addition, it is human nature that people like to know exotic information from their own experiences. The domestic television programs broad things mainly related to people's daily lives. The familiar domestic television programs are harder to trigger the audience than the counterpart from a foreign country. It is observed that the mass of youngsters in China are keen on famous American series, such as the big bang theory, 24 hours, and so forth. In contrast, few children have a desire to watch Chinese series on television after they finish the homework, even though some Chinese series have high qualities. The youth learn American culture, ethic, politics, and the social values through American series and movies.

Furthermore, foreign movies and television programs are best material to learn a new language. It is definitely insufficient for us to learn a new language just in school. No one around us communicate with the second language. Thus it is hard to learn the new words, and easy to forget as well. Nonetheless, the foreign television programs and movies provide a suitable situation that we can learn a lot of genuine idioms from people’s talks. Take me as example, the famous American soap opera, friends, is my best textbook to learn English, to understand American life, and to release my pressure.

In conclusion, the advanced technology, the nature to know the unfamiliar lifestyle and perfect material to learn a new language make the movies and TV programs more interesting and become the favor for the majority of audience.
