Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A job with more vacation time but a low salary is better than a job with a high salary but less vacation time.

With the high speed of modern society, people always in a higher pressure. As a result, many people would enjoy a job with more vacation time but a low salary. While, others are not, they rather like a job with high salary but less vacation time. Personally, I would like to say that I prefer a job with more vacation time.

Admittedly, there is no doubt that with the development of the science, human beings have become more concerning about the practical interests, such as efficiency, productivity and most importantly, the money. As earning more and more money is their primary goal, they would like a job with a higher salary rather than a job with more vacation time.

However, on the other hand, some job would be a very tiring, tedious experience at times. If one get regular breaks in between intensive periods of work, they will be more relaxed and ready to learn new material upon returning to work. In addition to this, a change in environment, even if only for a week, gives one the opportunity to relax while reflecting on one’s job. Many people find that even a short break allows them to refresh enough to continue with work.

Besides, having more vacation throughout the year is also good for one’s social life. Just imagine that you are enjoying a charming ocean view. The sky there is so blue and the beach is always full of sunshine. You know how romantic it can ever be, just relax yourself on the beach, when the sun is setting down, when the ocean breeze is blowing and the seabirds are singing. What’s more, if people have the opportunity to catch up with friends and family on a regular basis through the year, they will never feels as though they were losing touch with loved ones. Socializing with friends and family is also an excellent way to relax. If one frequently has this kind of opportunity, they will be more at ease and ready for the work.

Moreover, vacation to faraway lands can give person more perspective on the world, and can also provide excellent memories. Consider the Americans and people from the Arab World. People form America prefer the casual and relaxing apparel such as jeans and T-shirt which reveals their attitude of neat and convenient and their extrovert racial character; while people from Arab World always wear the black clothes and the veils especially incase of their women, and those features of appearance expose the significant role religious doctrines play in their life. Moreover, American people are more likely to hug with each other when they meet after separated for a long time. This warm hug roots in the freedom and open mind of America civilization. English people behave in a gentle, respectful and courteous manner toward one another, and value human dignity. Japanese people tend to work long hours, diligence, will power and strong conviction. All of these can through travelling to these countries tells us.

To sum up, from what has been discussed above, we may draw the conclusion that a job with more vacation time would definitely benefit us. Though many times of vacations, we can not only relax ourselves, enhance the efficacy, but also we can broad our vision about the whole world, which would enrich our life.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Younger school children (ages five to ten) should be required to study art and music in addition to math, science, history and language.

The authorities at younger schools must make very important decisions regarding what will be considered to be the required curriculum for their students. In my opinion, I prefer that the school should require its students study art and music in addition to math, science, history and language.

Admittedly, there is no doubt that math, history and language enables children to obtain a basic level of knowledge and culture their ability to survive. Such as a general view of the history of a nation can ensure all of the children be favored with the opportunity to learn the merits of the traditional values that have been created and tested for a long time by our ancestors. Math can cultivate the logic ability in order to form rigorous thought. Language can train up enough logical thinking and cognitive.

However, on the other hand, we must realize that the truly education should be based on the learning a wide scope of knowledge. Since various disciplines are interrelated, the study of courses of art and music may benefit the study of others. Besides, in today’s advanced society, a broad range of knowledge can come to the best judgment By exploring subjects, like art and music, children may find new academic fields where their real interest and potential gifts lie.

Thus, we cannot neglect the others subjects, such as art and music. We can never deny that art and music play a variety of roles both in individual and in a particular school. Psychologically, art and music enhance our life by adding beauty to our surroundings, and it is sources of pleasure and relaxation from stresses of everyday life. Socially, art and music also function in every corner of the world, and reveal the other otherwise ideas and impulses of a society.

As for a young child, imposing art and music are able to influence them very well, by vividly and deeply showing goodness and badness of a society, and then help them know the society clearly. Such as painting tend to represent the feeling of people to the life, such as hope, happiness and meditation, which are hidden in the heart of human beings commonly; music focus on telling the experience and thought of people to the society as well as make the children learn more about the impulses of the society. Besides, throughout the world, religious rituals everywhere include songs and dance performance enhance children’s emotional component of their religious experience, by portraying important scenes and symbols from religious history and mythology.

To sum up, from what has been discussed above, we may draw the conclusion that whether math, history, science, language or art, music, they are all important in learning process. Only through the association of those subjects can children attain the final target of learning and help them possess the capability to compete in the future society.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Students should not take part-time jobs while they are studying in universities.


Many university students may think of getting a part-time job while studying, but some people think working is not beneficial for students. However, I hold the opposite viewpoint because I believe that taking a part-time job can have many advantages.

Admittedly, there is no doubt that doing part-time jobs will take the time of study. While, we must realize that a proper part-time job does not occupy students' too much time. In fact, it is unhealthy for them to spend all of time on their study. As an old saying goes: All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

First of all, working a part-time job can develop one’s social and interpersonal communication skills and teach one how to cope with difficult issues. In high school, students have fewer opportunities to enter society, interact with many different types of people, or expand their vision, so most high school students merely learn academic subjects and do some communities volunteer work. In contrast, when they attend a university, they are usually eighteen or nineteen years old, so they are old enough to do something in society—that is, take a part-time job—that allows them to interact with many people and see various social events. As they do so, they develop their social skills, which is very important for their future careers.

What’s more, before students study in a university, they depend on their parents for food, clothing, and money, but rarely consider the work that their parents had to do to earn that money. By taking a part-time job, they will experience the hardships that their parents must experience, leading them to cherish all the things around them and stop wasting waste time and money. Besides, the money earned from a part-time job will take care of the student's expenses needed to continue with his studies.

In addition, the feeling of success that comes from holding different jobs can build the confidence. Knowing they can do many jobs well and be paid for it is an important character-building experience that many young people put off for too long. Learning to manage the money that they make will be a critical part of their future lives. If they make mistakes handing their money, the result will probably not be disastrous, but will teach them valuable lessons that they will be sure to remember in the future when they will be truly independent.

To sum up, from what has been discussed above, we may draw the conclusion that taking a part-time job while studying in a university provides students with several advantages and leads them to them to grow up in many respects. Consequently, I firmly believe that taking a part-time job while studying at a university is clearly advantageous.
