According to the statement, the speaker claims that it is the artist that give us something of lasting value but not the critic, I partly agree with that, I think that both of them have the contribution to the art which give us a wonderful feeling, the reasons are stated as follows.

In the first place, admittedly, we cannot even see any art work without the artist, it is the artist that created such beautiful creations to all the society, we should appreciate that because the art really make our life more colorful or we would feel very bored everyday and lose a lot of interesting. Just like the paintings draw by the painters, it is not only a image but also a idea inside. And watching the movies are also the favourite hobbit of most people. How an important role does the art play in our world.


But in any degree we should say that most artists don't know how to communicate with the public and how to spread their ideas. So we cannot forget the function of the critic, the people who spread the art work of the artists into the real world. because sometime when we look at a
painting, most people don't know what the artist want to express at all, such as the <Sunflower> painted by Van Gogh, when people admire it at first time, they
would think it is just a flower and nothing else, nobody could understand the
abstraction but also the artist himself and the critic, so after
examined and appreciated by the critic, people understand everything and take that be one of the most value paintings. That is what the responsibility to a critic.

So, we should know that the critic also be an indispensable part in the program of stepping into successful field. Not only the paintings, but also the movies, the critic could make a film review
which would help us to understand the movie better. They also establish many important prizes to the movies, just like the Oscar in the Hollywood. The prize could urge the directors to make better movies and give a right way to the industry of film to develop. Otherwise the Hollywood would become the factory which only product commercial film to the audiences.

To sum up, I would say that the artist and the critic are the same term, the artist create the art works and the critic help the artist to spread the art work and supervise the quality of the art works, none of which is superfluous,
they both have the praiseworthy achievement to the art world.
