"Because of television and worldwide computer connections, people can now become familiar with a great many places that they have never visited. As a result, tourism will soon become obsolete."
The speaker asserts that the possibility that people can become familiar with a great many place they have never visited through TV and worldwide computer connections makes tourism obsolete .I consent with it insofar as that people do have more paths to appreciate numerous places of great interests ,However, that does not necessarily mean that tourism is out of date.I would contend that tourism will never be replaced by other ways in providing enjoyment both physically and mentally.
Admittedly, TV and computer connections provide unprecedented chances to learn every corner without stepping out of houses. Many TV stations offer great amounts of tourism programs to satisfy the mass’s increasing demands for knowledge of world-wide outlook. So following with the guide in programs, people can also get a view of the places they have been dreamed of for a long time. Still vividly and satisfied, we can see the grandness of Effiel Tower and Arch of Triumph,we can appreciate the miraculous ancient Pyramid and the modern metropolises around the world as well .Through TV ,we can see whatever places as we want. Moreover, provided the enormous resources covering tremendous numbers of fields on net, we can gain whatever information, including documents, galleraies and so forth , as we want ,not to mention tourism .
However, such alternatives cannot replace the real traveling for the increasing tourists each year well illustrates the overwhelming superiority of traveling over other alternatives. Why do people who have already enjoy the splendid scenery on TV would still turn to traveling such universally ?The answer is quite simple: they incline to be personally on the scene. And probably it is just that experience on TV and internet sparks their impulse to gain this real experience in the real world. Tourism provide them that special treat .Only when people visit the place themselves can they be really satisfied and physically and spiritually. For example, can you truly appreciate the Niagara Fall’s real charms without standing in front listening to her ,splashed and made nearly deaf ,or taking a boat straight down the fall screaming to the point of craziness? Hardly can we be so excited and shocked by the great nature were not for our endeavor to approach her. Besides, people regard traveling as a way of relieving pressure, broadening their horizons, and sometimes spuring intensive comprehension of life. Stired up by the sights, we ,as an animal inclined to be emotional, may see an entire different life , alter our attitudes towards this complex world, thus extricating us from the petty trifle annoying us.
Moreover, On the sides of world and government ,it is assured that tourism will definitely soar rather than become obsolete. Statistical figures have revealed that tourism have turned into an irreplaceable methods of earning money. In some countries such as Switzerland , Singapore ,tourism now acts as a predominant industry for national income .Besides its economical benefits , the political and culture significance is equally important. A certain spot perhaps represented a meaningful historical event which must be engraved deeply in mind . A specific style of architecture which is perceived as old-fashioned may well illustrated the contemporary values and trends of that society. Therefore, it will be unreasonably to cancel tourism.
In sum, though TV and network have precedence in its accessibility, that alone undoubtedly, cannot weigh over the tourism, which not only provides us real experience ,excitement, but also contributes to the development of economy ,politics and the dissemination and inheritance of culture. :handshake
