One does not have to go very far to see the validity of the above allegation. In this era of rapid social and technological development leading to increasing information there are abundant choices waiting for us to make decisions. Some people, especially the youngsters who have an ambition about achievement, are always complaining that too few choices or opportunities are accessible. However, it is usually not the case. The crucial points are to prepare for all the chances and make a good choice.
In many colleges and universities, some graduates just complain that it is hard to get a job. Admittedly, nowadays society has emphasized competition more and more. Thus most youngsters who tend to look for jobs may feel a heavy pressure out of society. However, as far as I am concerned, it is just hard to get a perfect job in their minds. Just at a glance at a piece of Chinese newspaper, at times you can find comments saying that graduates nowadays are too care about the working conditions or too utilitarian to satisfy with any job.
It must be noted that we live in a society in which the amount of information is increasing in an unprecedental rate ---- sometimes called information inflation. In this sense, it is ridiculous to say that there lies the absence of choice. The present-day technology has not only promote the standard of living but also enhanced the productivity efficiency, which means great availability or abundance of products or commodities, which, in turns, means too much choices for people, especially for those consumers.
In fact, we usually ignore two significant points relevant to choice. First, we have to be prepared all the time for our choices or opportunities. In other words, one has to wait patiently and work diligently in order to success. "Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them", said by one of the greatest writer. Words such like these give a clear notion that choices are everywhere and they just are just for patient people. Abraham Lincoln once gave a well-known sentence: I will prepare and some day my chance will come. In a sense, those who aim at great deeds must suffer greatly. In addition, choice-making is one crucial ability one must mater in order to confront the endless river of information and knowledge. Recently, there is a hot-sail book, named of "too much choices mean no choices at all", writing about the dilemma of sufficient choices but impossibility to choose many people are faced with in their daily lives. The book's name gives a vivid description of current information world. Someone jokes,” You can choose not to choose.” Unfortunately, no one can do like this for his/her stomach. Hence, to avoid this dilemma and be wise in face of the information sea, people have to be sagacious enough and learn the choice-making ability which requires reasonable criticizing and independent thinking.
In sum, we should be optimistic to our circumstances, in which the absence of choice is very, very rare. What we need are just patience, sweet, tenacity and persperation. We can also become stronger by learning about choice-making ability.
