正文:
In this society, some people think that only when education is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, will it be truely effective. I don't agree with this opinion. To some degree, education specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student is effective. However, if this kind of education is over emphasized, it will lead the students to an uncorrect way, which does not fulfill the purpose of education effective.
Admittedly, in our more than ten years' study lifes, we are all clear about the important role interests play in studying. With interests, we have strong motives to learn. With interests, we learn things more quickly. And, with interests, we can stick on the difficulties then conquer them. Many of the greatest scientists began their reserch life with interests of that specific subject, such as Darwin, Edison, and Einstein. Some people say, interest is the key to success. And many famous political leaders began their political lifes with the interests of social science, such as Bill Cliton, one of the most famous presidents of the United States.
Moreover, whether one education can meet the individual needs of each student is one of the standards judging whether this education is effective. Because each student is unique, they have different needs of study. Somebody require the teacher teach methodicly, while somebody prefer a teaching flexibly. Education well designed to meet these needs may make the students accomodate quickly, so this education is effective in this consideration.
Nevertheless, over emphasization on these aspects makes the design of education at loose ends. One thousand students may have one thousand requirements, however, there won't be any education in the world can satisfy these thousands of requirements at the same time. If we insist on this principle, meeting all the students' needs and interests, what we can do is to design one thousand projects. To commonsense, it is not practical and not effective.
Furthermore, if the classes are set only according to the students' needs and interests, the students have the power to refuse to learn some subjects which they don't like while quite important to their studies. This can lead to a result that there are many students who only know the subjects and things they feel interested in. Another consequence of designing education plans specifically meet the individual needs and interests of each student is that there may be a lot of students learn some hot subjects, while the other less hot subjects lack people to study. This will lead to an unbalance social professional constrcuture. In this situation, the input of education don't produce people with ability effectively to the places where they are needed.
In a word, in my opinion, the truely effective education is designed to meet the need of the society, and basic subjects of each unique field should be taught without exception. But students can alter their classes setting in minor aspects.
