In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books.

With the television, is it unnecessary to learn by reading book? That may not be the case. Television and books have their own merits helping study, and in the near future, they could not take place of each other.

Television, well-known for its vivid and accurate vision, as well as sound, is suitable for the study of some easy and actual lessons. For example, the program of cooking is widely spread to nearly every life channel; the people could learn it step by step, so it is hard to misunderstand the meaning of the 'teacher'. Yet, depending on the books, the people may encounter a trap that they hardly control the time of boiling or the quantity of the spicy, and so on, because the description of cooking books is abstract, lacking of details. Thus, relying on its active pictures and vivid sonic, television can play a role in comparably direct and easy lessons, like cooking, etc.

In the profound and difficult fields, the television could offer less effort than books, because the books have several merits which television has not. First, books could express the abstract theories and disciplines better. Although the television can supply vivid vision about the phenomena of theories, the rumination and thought about the profound meaning of theories could not easily be exhibited by television. Secondly, as known to all, the process of television may not be in harmony with all the audience, if some of them could not follow the lessons; they miss a lot of knowledge. Even if the media recorder could memorize all the lessons, yet it is comparably wasting more time to adjust the process of video to fit the one's own learning. Books could not like that, people could control the process of study by themselves, and they could hang on a problem for several hours, or skip tens of pages in a few seconds. Thirdly, it is flexible for people to take a book everywhere they like to study, but the television not. Finally, according to the developing technology, it is likely that one day some forms of media will take place of book, but in the near future books would play an important role in study.

As mentioned above, both of the two methods are have their own merits in learning, and to some extent they are the great supplement to each other. In cooking, even though the cooking book are not so good as the television, but as an assistant to the television teaching it works well to remind people about the main points of cooking dishes. To the theory teaching, television can offer the phenomena of the difficult theories that would help students to understand them more profoundly.

To conclude, the two ways of study have their own advantages in different fields, and the combination of the two would win better results of study.

结果完整,思路清楚,但是我觉得论证并不太有力,单一的举例例证,而且感觉少点什么,例子的分析还需要加强,还有一点语言稍显贫乏,句式比较单一,而且句子之间的连接还要加强就好了。

另外:

但是这样不是很麻烦吗? 就是wasting time 了 而且下面还提到 方便性的问题

赫赫,我就是觉得你说这样wasting time有点牵强哈~~~感觉老外都用这些很熟的~~~我也不知道对不对阿:P
