------题目------
The following is taken from an advertisement placed in a weekly business magazine by the Dickens Academy.
'We distributed a survey to senior management at International Mega-Publishing, Inc. The result of the survey clearly indicates that many employees were well prepared in business knowledge and computer skills, but lacked interpersonal skills to interact gracefully with customers. International Mega-Publishing decided to improve customer satisfaction by sending their newly hired employees to our one-day seminars. Since taking advantage of our program, International Mega-Publishing has seen a sharp increase in sales, an indication that the number of their disgruntled customers has declined significantly. Your company should hire Dickens and let us turn every employee into an ambassador for your company.'

The advertisement seems attracting, but the arguer fails to convince me that it was Dickens that helps the Mega-Publishing to make their progress, and he or she puts overemphasis the importance of interpersonal skills for all the employees.

The arguer claims that the interpersonal skills of Mega-Publishing's employees are poor, according to a survey made Dickens Academy. Clearly, if Mega-Publishing sends there employees to take part in the training program, it is Dickens who will get profit. This makes me suspect the credibility of the survey. It is quite possible that Dickens distort the result of the survey in order to attract Mega-Publishing to participate in their program. And the Mega-Publishing's employees may not have the problems in interpersonal skills to begin with.

Admitting the employees of Mega-Publishing who took part in the survey actually have the problems in interacting with customers, the arguer fails to make me believe that the new employees of the company have the same kind of problems. It is quite possible that the new employees are well adequate in communicating with the customers, and are skillful in interpersonal skills. And without precluding this possibility the arguer cannot persuade me to believe that the increase of sales and decline of complain is due to the training rather than the new competent employees of the company.

Further, assuming that the new employees truly have problems in interacting with the customers and after they get trained the sales increased and the complaint decreased. The arguer fails to establish the cause-effect relationship between the two. The employees' interpersonal skills may not be improved. And the improvement of the company may due to other reasons. Maybe, the Mega-Publishing has hired a new manager who regulates the behavior of the employees and makes them more effective in sales. It is also possible that Mega-Publishing newly introduced a product which attract many consumers and result in the good sales. And maybe Mega-Publishing has raised the salary of the employees, which brush up their morale, and make them interact with customers more gracefully. Similarly, without ruling out the reasons above, I cannot be sure whether it is Dickens who makes the improvement.

In addition, even if Dickens is truly effective in improving the interpersonal skills of the employees as the arguer claims, it is unfair to make the assertion that every employee need the training of Dickens. For the employees who are already efficient in skillfully dealing with the customers, there is no reason to waste their time and the money of their company to let them receive the training. And For some employees, such as program makers who seldom get in touch with the customers, I see no reason for them to take part in the proposed training program.

All in all, the arguer fails to ensure that Dickens Academy can really assist the employees to improve their interpersonal skills, and he or she can not make me believe that all the employees need the proposed training.
