In any realm of life—whether academic, social, business, or political—the only way to succeed is to take a practical, rather than an idealistic, point of view. Pragmatic behavior guarantees survival, whereas idealistic views tend to be superceded by simpler, more immediate options.

Answer:
Whether to hold on a practical or an idealistic idea on the way seeking success can be evaluated in many aspects. Diffrent people have diffrent opinions due to their respective points of view. In my view, the issue should be determined in a case-by-case analysis.It is true that in social and political areas, pragmatic behavior are conducting a dominant role in order to gain the very goal concerning suvival, while in other realms, especially scientific academics, idealistic views are more pervasive and optimal to the development to discover significant acomplishment.

Political and business mechanisms are almost always be guided by pragmatic behaviors in order to efficiently gain success in every considerable course of action. Politics and business enterprises, which links interests of large amount of various people, have more obligations to guarantee success in its conducting. Moreover, no matter politics or business, plenty of complex communication and interpractice with other groups and corperations is full in their daily functioning. Therefore, very similiar with weaving a huge web that attempt to link every dots of the world, conducting politics or business are a complicating work that involves diversity of poeple and groups. It is better to comply with conventional restrictions, in order not to generate some unecessary troubles that decline the progress of every course of action. In other words, to adopting a pragmatic rather than ideal views towards political or business issues are essential to success.  


While in academic areas, which reqires creativity and conspiration to develop new ideas and frameworks in order to progress or to solve stubborn problems, taking an idealistic views tend to gain more success. Unlike political or social realms, the ultimate and essential goal or guidance of academic areas are a simple one that one enter academic deciplines in order to search for truth and mechanics of the nature. As a result,little bueraucracy or conventional restrictions are allowed in academic areas such as pure science and hamanity.People are encouraged to sow their spirit in these areas in order to seek the very truth of the outside world without any exterior disturbation of comformity. Therefore, idealist, rather than pragmatic behavior are efficient in the academic dievelopment.The famous theoretical physicist of A. Einstain,who invented the theory of realition, can serve as an instance in point of applying idealistics of scientific success .

In sum, whether to applying a pragmatic or a ideal view in proceeding in a certain enterprise is determined by the characteristics and the routine followed in its daily life of the realms. In political and business areas, which involves communication and interaction with other social groups,pragmatic view will be much more efficient than ideal ones with respect to gain progress. However in the academic deciplines, ideal views would more serve to create new ingenious theories and methods, thus to achieve  significant acomplishment.Idealistic and progmatism, due to their distinctive characteristics, are both serve our whole society to achieve higher level of civilization.
