------题目------
Most people would agree that buildings represent a valuable record of any society's past, but controversy arises when old buildings stand on ground those modern planners feel could be better used for modern purposes. In such situations, modern development should be given precedence over the preservation of historic buildings so that contemporary needs can be served.
------正文------
Should modern development given precedence over preservation of historic buildings as the statement asserts? In my point of view, people holding this opinion have not enough awareness of the significant value of historic architectures in our modern society.
As every nation has its unforgettable history, each country has its distinctive style of architecture. Sometimes building means more than just a house that provides people with an accommodation. It presents the soul of the culture, which tells us where we from and how we different from the other nations, and along with it we inherit a value system of art, aesthete and technique from our ancestors. For instance, in many foreign countries where there is a large group of Chinese immigrants, you will find a special community called "China Town" with all the buildings presented in the traditional Chinese style. This is the way that people identify themselves as the "dragon's progeny".

From its historical building, we tract back the past and tell a country's spirit. A well-presented example is the great Pyramids in the Egypt, which shows us an outstanding civilization once existed in the mid-east desert, and impressed us deeply with the courage and talent of ancient Egyptian people. Also the Great Wall, makes us Chinese people proud of our prosperous history, and inspirits us to contribute more to our glorious nation. Historical architecture stands as a vivid textbook, which is not only visible but also touchable.

Furthermore, historical buildings serve as tourism attraction, and benefit us greatly in economic. Such as the big Ben in London, triumphal arch in Paris, Summer Palace in Beijing, the historical architectures, as the emblems of a city, attract thousand of tourists home and aboard every year. When people are visiting Beijing they expect to see some traditional houses with red wall and yellow eave on the street, but not skyscrapers everywhere; they would like to wander in the "Hu Tong" (an old style of bystreet) casually, but not just driving over the high-streets.

Unfortunately, with the process of globalization, some major cities in China replaced the old buildings with new ones which designed in the international style, and the figures of these cities are more and more similar. Therefore we should look into this serious issue and realize our responsibility to preserve these valuable historic buildings for our decadences. If the modern development is based on the expense of the loss of historical buildings, the city will lose its culture foundation and its unique characteristic.

In summary, historic buildings, with their significant values in the history and culture record, needs us to protect them with any effort. While the modern development could be planed and relocated, and the historic buildings are irrecoverable once destroyed, we should always give precedence to the preservation of historic architecture.

Should modern development given precedence over preservation of historic buildings as the statement asserts? 这里跳跃性大点了。。。中间加一点过渡和承接的东西会比较好In my point of view, people holding this opinion have not enough awareness of the significant value of historic architectures in our modern society.
TS不够鲜明As every nation has its unforgettable history, each country has its distinctive style  of architecture. Sometimes building means more than just a house that provides people with an accommodation. It presents the soul of the culture, which tells us where we from and how we different differentiatefrom the other nations, and along with it we inherit a value system value system和技术联系不大吧of art,       aesthete and technique from our ancestors. For instance, in many foreign countries where there is a large group of Chinese immigrants, you will find a special community called "China Town" with all the buildings presented in the traditional Chinese style. This is the way that people identify themselves as the "dragon's progeny这个表达准确吗?准确的话就收藏之。。。".

From its指代物没有出现还是不要用it了吧 historical building, we tract back the past and tell a country's spirit. A well-presented example is the great Pyramids in the Egypt, which shows us an outstanding civilization once existed in the mid-east desert说句题外话。。。那时候埃及那应该不是沙漠吧。。。而且那应该算做西亚。。。, and impressed us deeply with the courage and talent of ancient Egyptian people. Also the Great Wall, makes us Chinese people proud of our prosperous history, and inspirits us to contribute more to our glorious nation. Historical architecture stands as a vivid textbook, which is not only visible but also touchable.这2段的意思基本上是非常相似的。。。合并起来就可以了。。。

这段的对比不错。。。不过TS说的是对经济的好处。。。后面却没怎么提经济的问题。。。最后一句应该回归到经济上来

Unfortunately, with the process of globalization, some major cities in China replaced the old buildings with new ones which designed in the international style, and the figures of these cities are more and more similar. Therefore we should look into this serious issue and realize our responsibility to preserve these valuable historic buildings for our 哪方面的decadencedecadences. If the modern development is based on the expense of the loss of historical buildings, the city will lose its culture foundation and its unique characteristic. 论证的有点浅。。。如果把最后一句展开说就好了。。

In summary, historic buildings, with their significant values in the history and culture record, needs 复数us to protect them with any effort. While the modern development could be planed and relocated, and the historic buildings are irrecoverable once destroyed, we should always有点太绝对化了 give precedence to the preservation of historic architecture.

总体还不错。。。问题已经在文中指出
