------题目------
The following appeared in a letter sent by a committee of homeowners from the Deerhaven Acres to all homeowners in Deerhaven Acres.
'Seven years ago, homeowners in nearby Brookville community adopted a set of restrictions on how the community's yards should be landscaped and what colors the exteriors of homes should be painted. Since then, average property values have tripled in Brookville. In order to raise property values in Deerhaven Acres, we should adopt our own set of restrictions on landscaping and housepainting.'

The speaker concludes that we should adopt our own set of restrictions on landscaping and housepainting to raise proerty values in Deerhaven Acres. To support his conclusion, the speaker cited the example of Brookville. However, close scrutiny of this evidence reveals several unconvincing problems.
First, the speaker makes a vague contrast in the different time. brookvilli community adopted a set of restrictions which has made great effect seven years ago. However, the tendency has probably changed after such a long period of time. Perhaps the persepective to assess a set of property was due to the landscaping and housepainting seven years ago while nowadays, people care more about quality and surrounding environments. If it is the case, the restriction will have little value in raising property price.
Secondly, the speaker believes a tirpled value increase has been a huge success in the property. However, he fails to give out a contrast between Brookville and other cities. Maybe after seven years, the states have experienced a violent inflation which made the money depreciates so a tirpled increase may be very common. Perhaps our property has experienced a higher increase. In that case, we may not have to learn from Brookville.
Fourth, the author confused a casual relationship between the increase in Brookville and the function of the restriction on landscaping and housepainting. It is entirely possible that other factors may play the key role. For example, may be the quality and the structure have been improved in the meantime which is a really contribution to the raise of property. Thus, the mere evidence only give a possibility that the two aspects are relevant but not necessary a casual relationship.
Finally, assuming that Brookville has made a skyrocketing increase due to the landscaping and housepainting, the speaker has made an illogical analogy that if Deerhaven Acres imitate Brookville, we can also raise our property. Maybe the two cities have different culture and custom so a lot of Deerhaven citizens perhaps do not pay attention to the landscaping when they select a set of property. It is entirely possible that most people in Deerhave have not afforded such a novel property and they are more likely to buy a common house. Therefore, the experience in Brookvilled may have no relative value in Deerhave.
In conclusion, the argument is not convincing as it stands. To strengthen the conclusion, the author has to offer further illustration about whether the landscaping and housepainting have made the function and whether the tendency is still the same. Meanwhile, the author also should give me information about the contrasts of the two cities to validate the two cities have enough similarity.
