With the appearance of technology, especially in recent time, many people think of technology as a devil and worry that technology will destroy the whole world someday. In fact, the worry is not necessary, in other words, technology solves lots of problems and improves our lives greatly although it also creates some problems and the problems it creates also can be resolved.

First of all, technology solves much more problems than it creates, some of them even relate to the survival of human being. Without technology, there will not have the rapid development of the world. In the ancient era, people's lives were so unsafe that they were often threatened by many disasters, such as floods, bad weathers and even other beasts, then people invented some tools or weapons to protect themselves and built up houses for warming and avoiding the attack from beasts. In modern era, with the rapid increase of population, the resources become more and more short, and it also need technology to solve. For example, with large numbers of people entering into the cities, the cities become very congested and many people even cannot find a room to live. But advanced architectural technologies can build up skyscrapers to afford enough rooms for residents, which make space used reasonably and adequately.

Secondly, technology improves the quality of life greatly rather than threatens or damages it. Just due to technology, people can find enough foods to get rid of hunger; just with the help of technology, people can travel for long distance; just depending on modern communication technology, people can communicate with each other very conveniently; and just having the modern medical technology, people's lives are greatly prolonged. Consequently, we can see that all those changes of our lives cannot occur without technology. If there is no technology, people's lives may be still at the aboriginality.

Admittedly, just as everything has two sides, technology also brings many problems, such as pollution, war, and etc. Some of the problems are due to the deficiencies of technology, but most problems actually result from people's unreasonable utilization and management. Take environment problem as an example. It is true that machines create lots of waste gases waste waters which make the environment seriously polluted since Industrial Revolution, but it is unavoidable because everything has a process of development, so does technology, in other words, technology also need time to be perfected. However, actually the deterioration of environment is mainly because of people’s abuse of resources to make profits and neglect of the seriousness of pollution indeed. So, what to do now is not to throw away technology thoroughly, but to improve machines, review people’s former activities and find remedies to the current situation.

To sum up, technology has more advantages than disadvantages since the improvements of our lives have to depend on it and we cannot deny the benefits of technology just according to its shortages. Certainly, the side effects it brings also need to be paid attention to in order not to be exaggerated too much.
