The discussion of the high controversial issue about tradition and modernization has come into vogue among people all over the world during the last decade. Which one should us chouse? Or must we choose between them? Judgment should be dispensed. Insofar as, it's would be tempting to agree with the speaker's claim which is plausible on the surface, but further reflection tells me that both positive and negative call for a balance between tradition  and modernization, which are both significant aspect in society.=============================================
On one hand, we as individuals and members of society have been immerging in the tradition from us come to the world. Tradition as a director lead we to a harmoniously developed society, as a critics evaluate the significant of the procedure, and as a artist portray the eternal beautiful spirit of the world, while without the tradition, we will bog ourselves in a pitfall of no purpose. The "Funeral Match” of Beethoven's symphony with the abrupt silence deeply express the grave sense of sorrow. The economic theory postulated by Keynes that a proper rate of unemployment will lead a positive motivation for the effective competition are definitely the principle to lead the whole world blooming at least in financial area. Humor’s greatest work--Iliad and Odyssey portrays the great heroes in the ancient Greek Empire. All these are so important that we should take efficient account of them.===============================================
On the other hand, in the accelerating changing society, the typical modern man/woman should not cave their spirit in the blunt stone, but should let the fashion brand on their memory. As the industry such as automobile and transportation developing and the telecommunication improving, our world has becoming smaller and smaller and turn into a “world village". We, living in the society full with competition, should compel ourselves to take the new ideas and advance, to look more external issues rather than internal controversy. The electronic evaluation has radically changed our environment we live and work. Thanks to the computer, we can share our feelings with thousands miles away from us, attribute to the CD device, plentitude of music satisfied our spiritual desire so long as we like. =============================================
Sometimes, we are entangled in the dilemma that only one dimension can be available, and then evaluation and investigation should be provided. A flat-faced modern office block or an elegant traditional commercial building? A high-tech department or a harmoniously lively country? Russell once said(and I paraphrase ) :” I maintain that only advancement is the ingredient that can lead me to happiness. But it’s too dearly purchased if all the other ingredients have been sacrifice to obtain it.” Pursuing modernization is we all want, but defending the tradition is significant due to the tradition help me to remember how we come to be where we are and giving the future generalization the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscapes.=======================
All in all, we should look for a bit more balance between the tradition and modernization. Though they may undermine each other to some extend, they compliment themselves if handled properly. As the backup of the society’s developing, tradition plays a key role while the significant aspect of the motivation is contribution to the society’s developing.
