The lecture argues that the application of visual-spatial intelligence some area like chess. The points in the lecture agree with the main idea of reading that there are visual-spatial intelligence in human. In fact, the example given by the lecture that chess player use these visual-spatial intelligence support it.
The first point that the lecture used to support the reading is chess player use visual-spatial intelligence to create their visual image before they move the chessmen. According to the lecture, chess player draw a image of the next step of the chessman in their brain before they move it, which hold the idea in the reading that visual-spatial intelligence can create and transport mental imagery of objects. Also, the professor take blind chess for example to illustrate that blind chess player can do more that 1 chess game with the help of the intelligence. Just like the reading said, people can draw the pictures or maps of spatial information.
Furthermore, the lecture bolsters the reading by stating that visual memory is indispensable when do these activities. The professor claims that chess players use visual memory to remember the position of the chessmen, which chessman they moved and why they moved them. The point agree with the reading which contents that people has visual memory that can rotate complex forms and draw whatever people see in a short time. Also, the lecture stated that there are memory pattern that help people use the intelligence, which also support the reading passage.
In a nutshell, The points of the lecture support the reading.
