Agree or disagree: Getting advice from the older friends is more valuable than getting advice from friends at your age. (2007.8.11)

In order to further advance one's development, he/she prone to get advices from him/her friends. Some people hold that the advices got from older friends is more valuable. Others people, however, said the opposite opinion-the advices got from peers is more trustworthy. In my point of view, I support the first opinion since the older friend's abundance experiences and thoughtful minds which excel the peer friends’.

First of all, comparing with peers, always older friends undergo more things and suffer more troubles. According to my statuation, my older friends who are most 3-4 years older than me, so they  attended schools before I did and got jobs before I did. Thus, I could learn the useful lessons which they had experienced. For example, when I first chose the optional classes, my older friends told me that it is better to study with your classmates than you choose a reputation professor. I fellow his suggestion and passed the exam by one more point, but my roommate who chose another famous but quiet strict professor did not pass the exam. Nowadays, I still admire and thank the older friend’s suggestion.

Furthermore, older friends always consider more completely than what peer friends do. I am the person who usually get advices from all my friends, and contrast these advices. I, however, found that most of times the suggestions getting from my friends at my age seem a little radical and incomplete. Take the job interview as an example. My friends said that the payment is the first reason to choose job. But my older friends asked me to consider further-the working place and the opportunity in the future career. It is clear that older friends' advices are more useful.

Last, but not the least. It is undoubted that one can receiver useful advices from the friends at his/her age. Some friends who I always play together know about me, so their suggestions definitely benefit me. For example, when I decided to become a true guide but my families said otherwise, my best friend supported me and encourage me to persist on my opinion because he know that I am the man like traveling around and working at one place does not suit me.

To sum up, Maybe some one cast on my opinion. But according to my situation, Because of the older friends' experiences and thoughtful minds, I think they are more trustworthy and their advices are more valuable.
