it is more important to use land for human need than to save land for endangered animals.（2008年03月22日）

As industrialization keeps moving forward and the world population continues to increase year after year, our living space has become more and more crowded. Therefore, a group of people suggest that we should take advantage of the unexploited land to compensate for the space we need. From my personal points of view, this approach is inappropriate because they totally ignored the requirement of animals, especially endagered animals.

Endangered animal will soon become extinct if we keep on damage their habitat. The process of ultilizing land inevitably accompany with devastation of the plants cover of a certain area. While forest and plants are the main resources from where animals get food. If it is destroyed, animals won't get sufficient food to feed themself and thus soon die out. For endagered animals such as Giant panda who solely rely on the bamboo to live, the result of deforestation will be fatal disaster.

As the land for animals keeps decreasing, a growing number of animals will be involved in the process of extinction. Because lack of land exert harmful influence to the food chain. As the inferior animals died out, the superior animals will face a difficulty to find enough food. In this manner, more species starve to death and thus become endagered animals. Moreover, once the chain is destoyed, it will take several years or decades or even centuries for the nature to repair it and achieve a new balance.

Before we decide to grab more land from animals, we should consider seriously on whether we have to do this. In fact, we can avoid more land occupation by other means. Exploring the ocean is a good idea since what we need is the space above the surface while animals can live below the sea. In this manner, human and animals achieve balance and harmony.

Therefore, I strongly suggest people stop using more land that could have been saved for animals. Because it will only cause more animals into extinction, and as a matter of fact, we do not necessarily have to use it.
