第十一次作业
It’s better to use own knowledge and experience to solve question, or ask other people for advice?(08.5.31)

When is comes to solving problems or making important decision, people like to seek advice from family or friends, because they believe that two minds are better than one. Though listing to the advice of family or friends can lead more benefits, from my personal alone, I prefer to solve questions or make decision alone instead or following others’ opinions.

It is true that we can learn something or handle problems without suffering by listening advice of trust and respect people. Besides, the perspectives which other people offer to you may shed some light on the situation and can help you weigh the positive and negative of the situation. Furthermore, a person learns a lesson for over 10 years, but he or she can convey this to another person only 10 minutes. Through other people’s experience can save a lot of time.

However, if we spend too much time to listening other people’s advice, we might loss our own aims or loss the confidence to deal with things independent. People use their own experience to convince that their perspectives are accurate; however, each person has his unique situation and knowledge background. If we simply to follow other people’s opinion instead of to use our own knowledge and experience to solve questions, we may not achieve progress or even making the same mistake over and over again.

In addition, through personal experience and knowledge to handle problems can lead to direct result of our own action, and the consequence may be concrete and unforgettable. For instance, we can remember we totally messed up the practice course and kept that in mind until now, but forgot the instruction said the teacher. It demonstrates that though their experience and knowledge are rich and abundant, we should usually learn by ourselves because of concrete and unforgettable.

What is more, it is no harm to asking advice from others, but if we always ask advice from our friends, it may bring them bothers, it is not wise decision to do that.

I do not want to undervalue the importance of other people’s advice. In some situations, their opinions are helpful. However, I prefer to we should use our own knowledge and experience to solve questions, and their opinions are purely for consideration.
