The controversy whether daily homework is necessary for students has been argued for so long since the schools have existed. In most cases students believe that only good home work is no home work. But it’s hard to imagine without daily homework how can we be sure that we have entirely understand the knowledge we’ve acquired? In my opinion, I think it’s necessary for students to have daily homework.

First, students will been given all kinds of classes, including mathematics, chemistry, history, physics, biology, geography, and the list will go on. According to Ebbinghaus’s theory of forgetting curve people will forget almost 70% we have learned in two days without review. So the homework provides a good opportunity for us to sure whether we’ve completely comprehend the knowledge we have learned. I also believe the old saying: practice makes perfect. Daily homework helps us to have a much deeper and more comprehensive impression about knowledge we’ve learned.

What’s more, it has been said in the Bible that human beings have the nature of sloth when they have born. if the teacher do not assign daily homework, I believe most children will not practice and review the knowledge by themselves, even some of them play computer games all nights after they back home. Students, especially young boys and girls, are lack of a kind of ability to well-plan their study and common senses of learning. As a result, without daily home work, eventually, they may fail the exam. So daily homework made students subconsciously review their knowledge.

At last, daily homework teaches us how to share ideas and solve a problem in teams. As a student, when I have some math problems I will have a discussion and share my ideas with my classmates to find a easier way to solve the problem. It improve the ability to teamwork. Teamwork becomes a more effective and efficient way to deal with all troubles as the development of the society.

In conclusion, daily homework is necessary for students at least for nowadays students. It helps students to have a deeper comprehension and lay a solid foundation for their future study, at the same time teaching them how to work as a team. Students will get benefits from it.
