Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Drivers should pay a fee to be allowed to drive on the city streets during the time when there is the greatest amount of traffic. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer



As the scientific technology developing, there are more and more automobiles in this world, which make it seems hustle and bustle. I think it is necessary to levy a fee on the drivers when there is the greatest amount of traffic.

First of all, as the process of urban explosion, more and more people come into the city and the city becomes more and more congested. If we don't take measures to limit the increases of those autos, our world will be full of those four-wheel things, which will influence our life very much. For instance, we often cannot help but sigh over the endless car queue when we go to school or corporations by bus. It is insufferable for me to spend several hours on the road everyday. After eight hours work, what we need most is a delicious supper or a cozy bath, but not sitting in the bus for one or two hours.

Moreover, the increasing autos will consume lots of energy sources. As we know, energy sources play an important role to develop industry and maintain our daily life, but it becomes more and more precious because of its scarcity. If we don't take measures, we may have to deal with an energy crisis. However some energy sources can avoid being consumed if our administrators do something, for example, imposing an extra tax on the drivers if their private cars run on the city streets.

Most importantly, the increasing energy consumes make the air seriously polluted. Not only car exhaust does contain carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that can absorb the heat reflected from the ground and warm the atmosphere, but also contain some noxious materials, such as lead and carbon monoxide. Besides, sulfur dioxide contained in the gas can induce acid rains, which make soil and water not fit for forests and crops.

Anyway, it’s time to take some measures to save energy and protect our environment. And first, it’s a good idea to impose a fee to drivers if they drive on the city streets during the time when there is the greatest amount of traffic.
