Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People can learn more from watching television than reading books. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.(07.02.03)

People adopt different ways to learn about the world. Some prefer to get insightful ideas from books, while some would like to watch TV for the newest thoughts and innovations. In my view, I would recommend watching TV as a better method, a way which is faster, more efficient and more interesting.

There is a proverb"it is not a  big mistake if you buy home a wrong book, but the time you spend reading a wrong book." Surely, flipping through a brick-like book require a genuine interest and resistance. It is a disaster when we find that we have finished half of a book yet we have not seen anything right to our taste. However, watching television will offer you a big feast: numerous channels to choose, diversified programmes to watch, and different ideas to spark your own. Not only will you quickly discover the areas you wish to know, but you will get the larger picture of the area in just a few hours.

In addition, not  publication can compete TV for the speed it catches up with the newest events, the heated debate, or the most astounding discovery. From news you get a glimpse of the accidents happening around the world; through the talk show we consider some big issues concerning the whole society; via the education channels you peer into the most exciting technology.Compared to books, which take authors months to write and editors weeks to modify——when it arrives at your hands it may already be out of date—— TV offers a more efficient way.

Besides, as the pressure coming from every aspects of our lives, the time for reading books has been crowded out or,moderately speaking, squeezed. People turn to TV as the main way to learn about the world. Thus, during a relaxed discussion or a quite get-together, we are prone to share the programmes we enjoy. By exchanging different views about events, big issues and ideas, we are more likely to come to a profound understanding of the world and knowledge. No doubt, it is far more interactive and enjoyable by virtue of TV than reading a book locked in your room.

In conclusion, TV, as far as I am concerned, beats books as a better way to learn about the world. With its speed, variety, and topics, we stand at the forefront of the Information Age.

Besides, as the pressure coming(用deriving好些吧) from every aspects of our lives, the time for reading books has been crowded out or,moderately speaking, squeezed.
