Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The ability to cooperate with other well is more important today than in the past. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I generally agree with the idea that the development of modern society requires stronger ability to cooperate with others. However my observation tells me that, for some occupations, the ability to work individually remains more important than the ability to work with others.

To begin with, it is quite obvious that there is an increasing demand for people’s the ability to work with others in modern society. If you are seeking a job, you will find a lot of companies emphasize so much on the ability to work in team, the leadership, the organization skill on their prospect employs. In fact, such phenomenon could be reasonably explained because nowadays, the specification of society has made people no longer possible to do any job on his/her own any more. For example, modern architects are no longer possible to take control of every aspect of a building design: the structure should be handled by civil engineers, the architecture equipment must be handed over to engineers with related knowledge, and the interior designs are sometimes done by interior designers. Under such circumstances, as moderners, we have to develop our ability to cooperate and to try to make the best out of our colleagues. In fact, only in this way are we able to do our jobs well.

However the increasing importance of the ability to cooperate does not necessarily mean that individual work is no longer useful. In fact, my observation suggests that for some occupations, individual work still plays a crucial, even determinant role. Take the artists’ work for example, the fundamental requirement for an artists’ creative work to be appreciated is of course his/her individuality. The artists have to show that his/her perspective and thinking are unique compared to what the general ideas are. Therefore, we almost can not image that inspiring and ground-breaking art work could be word out through collaboration. Because too many different voices in the team work could only serve to distract the artist from what he/she really wants to do. Besides artists’ work, in fact many other jobs still emphasize more on individual work today, including writers, some kinds of computer programming, so on and so forth.

To conclude, the specification of occupation in the modern society renders it necessary for us to cooperate, thus the importance of the ability to work in team is obvious more important than the past. Nevertheless the individual work still plays important role in some occupations, especially those that demand strongly creativity and individual thinking.
独自等待.默默忍受.

题目应该是阐述cooperation在过去和现在的比较,不是比较cooperation和personal ability。
