Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The ability to cooperate with other well is more important today than in the past. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Nowadays, many people seemingly think much of a person’s independence. Therefore, it follows a debate than if it is less important to cooperate well with others now than in the past. From my point of view, I agree that the ability to cooperate with others well is still important, even more than ever before.

First of all, with the acceleration of industrial growth came the knowledge explosion. Every individual with limited knowledge can only possess limited resource. Therefore, it is necessary to acquire more what we needed to handle a certain thing through cooperating with others. However, the instance before was totally different. As there was relatively less knowledge, an architect may also be a mathematician and painter, and maybe he can construct a small building or a monument single handedly. But now there is no doubt that it is impossible for an individual to construct a skyscraper or compile an enormous computer program on his own.

Besides, cooperation makes people work more efficiently and effectively. There is no mistaking that the work of two common people doubles that of a genius. For example, when two students study together, not only the disadvantages can one help the other find, but also one can learn some merits form the other. However, a solo person who can’t see other’s accomplishment may easily become complacent and fail finally.

Finally, cooperation makes people know more each other. Through cooperation, we can find out what others like or hate and become considerate. A person considered considerate is considered to have more opportunities to success because he can be welcome by his friends who may help him when he deeded. In all, despite the importance of a person’s independence, nothing could have prepared our life the influence of the cooperation with others now, so it is of more importance to cooperate well with others than before.
