Is it better to spend money on something that lasts long time, such as an
expensive piece of jewelry, or spend on something that provides a short-term

People spend money to have their needs satisfied, whether on a short-term vacation or durable and expensive jewelries. It is the pleasure or the precious memory that motivate us to empty our pockets. Generally speaking, there is no hasty conclusion that which one is more worthy of money, It depends on situations.

A short-term vacation is necessary for us when we want to escape from the tedious work and our demanding boss,or, peer pressures. Exotic cultures will arouse your interests and obscure your sorrows; splendid sceneries will turn your pale mind into a colorful world; talking with tourists and joking about life will shed a light on the true meaning of life. This precious trip, short as it may seem, replenishes your heart with love for life and refreshes you for your daily routine, with a wholly new different spirit.

On some occasions, however, we may need to spend money on some durable and valuable things, such as a piece of jewelry. It is commonly acknowledged that diamonds are the best gifts for the other half. No other thing in the world can represent the meaning of love better than diamonds. They are pure and durable as love. In some sense, it is a promise that the person, who sends it to his wife, will be dedicated to love in a life-long commitment.Sometimes, we spend money on valuable things not only because how worthy these things are in monetary measurement, but because of the meanings, the emotions which we hope to be long-lasting as the things on behalf of them.

Money is at our disposal and we can spend it as we wish,as long as we are satisfied. However,we cannot say whether to spend money on short-term pleasure is better than on long-lasting valuables,or vise versa. What we need to focus on, indeed, is the extend to which these "commodities" have made our life more colorful and meaningful.
