Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The next twenty years from now on, students will not use printed books any more. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.08/04/07

Have you ever taste the conveniences brought by e-book on the internet? Or have you still lost yourself in outdated paper-made book and suffer its affiliations? With the technology developed than ever before, the old book would definitely vanish in our eyesight and be replace the e-book which is more suitable for modern tendency. That is my opinion.

In the first place, the printed has the limited content which could not satisfy reader’s demand. Due to the finite pages the old book has, however the knowledge is endless, it is impossible to get enough information from the several old books to clarify such fields. For example, in order to be well skilled in English, every English learner always brought a large numbers of books related in various aspects such as listening practice, writing instruction, reading enhancement and so on. So many books may decrease the aspiration of learning. But if you use the e-book, the only thing you need to do is download a file within several minutes, then every thing is OK.

Additionally, carrying the printed book from is actually a vigor-consuming staff for every student. Present students are suffering so many courses to learn, so how to carry the essential books to school has became a confusing problem to them. Take my sister who is a junior high student for example. She was required to take so many classes such as literature, chemistry, physics and so forth. Every morning she has to take at least 4 books to her school bag. Just image that how exhausted she would be after the long road and how could she have enough energy to acquire teachers talking? This case is nor rare. So, the old book could make students’ learning more painstaking.

Last but not least, the paper-made book always too expensive to usual students. As is know to all, the old type book was made from wood and some other minerals, of which the price has increased with the resource tending to be scarcer. And in addition to the worker’s labor, the price of printed book could not be low, which however prevent some poor families’ children from gain knowledge. For example, in my college life, I have to spend averagely 300 yuan per semester to pay for the book I need, which is too huge amount to some students. So because of its unbearable price, student would not use printed book any more if the technology in the future allowed.

Admittedly, the printed books lead countless knowledge to our fathers and played an important role in social development. However, it is doomed to disappear in the future since it could not cover enough contents, too heavy to carry, and cost much money which dramatically confine student learning activity.
