Observation is an act of recognizing and noting a fact or occurence, which is surely containing more or less subjective ingredients. However, the objective ingredients in observation depend on the different field, the cognition of observer, the instruments of observation and the description language.
Generally speaking, the observation in different field may make a great differneces. For instance, the observation in art are seldom contain absolutely objective ingredient. Different people may have the different taste and different interest. It is common for two different paintists get the contrast paintings although they are seeing the same sight. The obeservation is guided by their desires. From other point of view, thanks to the subjective observation, we can enjoy the diversity in arts. Different from the art, the obeservation in science or technology are asked for containing less subjective ingredients. And many principles and theories are built upon the objective observation. The disers and expectations would mislead the observation and even destroy the whole research. Hence the observers in sicence or technology are required to get less subjective colors.
However, it is truely that no pure objective observations in any things, the observers and the observation and description way have greatly influence on the observtaion. Since the behavior of observing is guided by our spiritual and phschological forces, the outcome of observation contains more or less the subjective colors. Take a observation in a car accidents for example, the witness and the driver may present the different observation although they experience the same things. Anyway, the witness may provide more objective evidences if he is not involving the case.
In sum, whether the observation is objective or subjective is mainly on the circustance of the things being obsevered and the status of the obsevers. However, to confirm the objective ingredients of the evidences is important for some fields like science.
