There is no such thing as purely objective observation. All observation is subjective; it is always guided by the observer’s expectations or desires.

Scientists tend to regard observation as objective, based upon which scientific principles are formulated and breakthroughs are achieved. However, we can't deny the fact that, strictly speaking, observation ineluctably involves the subjective interference and pure objective observation is nowhere to be found.
In the first place, to observe involves a great number of choices. Such decision of the objects, methods, process as well as the purpose ought to be decided beforehand as long as one attempts to make a sound observation. In that sense, to observe is equivalent to make a sort of choices, which are inevitably subjective to one's preferences. People are apt to focus on one aspect while overlook the others in the process of observation. The Iraq War launched by the Republic Labor is a case in point. The infamous battle waged by U.S. is incensed by the falsified report which exaggerates Iraq’s possession of huge amount of ammunition that will threaten the safety of US and hence the whole world. In order to dumping the ashen arms, Republic Labor intentionally made the biased observation and thus allowed its citizens to form the negative impression of Iraq to facilitate the launch of Iraq war. In such sense, the same object may take different shapes in the eye of different peoples.
On the other hand, observation is objective considering the prototype or the objects being observed are stable and objective. Fortune-telling and astrology have long being scolded for its groundlessness and undue reliance on the subjectivity. One may argue Vampire and Spiderman stems from nowhere in the natural world and is a sheer figment form human imagination. However, such claim is untenable after we take their appearance into consideration, all of which may find their origin in the daily live, the human being itself. It is through the observation of the existing objects that those supernatural figures come into existence.
In addition, it is the drive and ultimate purpose of the observation that there do exist certain facts or rules no at human’s discretion. Scientists are convinced that there goes nothing beyond the scientific construe. We can get everything under control through scientific analysis and deduction. Any observation conducted, data collected and experiments coming before collaborate to guide us to move a step further to the truth. In such process, myriads of principles pall while much more are built up to facilitate the search for canon. Center of the universe, a heated issue, ultimately is ultimately settled in the struggle between subjectivity and objectivity. In that sense, observation can be judged objective.
In conclusion, observation, though by nature is subjective with regard to the personal involvement, is on its way to reach the status of totally objective. In the case of scientific research, more and more subjective observation piles up to uncover the infallible truth of the universe.
