In this argument , the author recommends that the Cedar Corporation should hire Discount company instead of the Good-Taste Company to provide with the food in Cedar Corporation 's employee cafeteria next year ,and the author finally conclude that this change will improve employee satisfaction . To support his/her argument , the author firstly cites the information that the Good-Taste Company which refuses to provide meals on special diets ,yet has its prices increased in each of the last three years is the second most expensive caterer in the city . In addition , the author presents two example of the response to two food company respectively , first one is that three staffs from Cedar said that food from Good-Taste company is unbearable , another one is that the author himself/herself found that meals from Discount was well-tasted . This argument is suffering from several logic fallacies and finally unable to be convincing .
To begin with , only the information that the Good-Taste company increased prices has been showed in the argument , however, we have not been posted about the comparable information about the price from Discount company . No direct details can show that the related price from Discount is lower than that in Good-Taste company . In addition, even assuming that Discount has a more competitive price of its foods , Good-Taste company's meal may be of better quality ,which is much accounted by employee from Cedar . Both of these two possibilities weaken this argument and cause the author's suggestion and finally conclusion to be dubious .
Further more , albeit that there are three employees have already complained that the meals in cafeteria charged by Good-Taste company is unbearable , after reasoning and strict consideration
,the grumble make little sense to define that the Good-Taste Company is poor enough so that it should be replaced . The group of three people is too small and is of no meaning in the statistics terms if the Cedar employing hundreds people . The three employees may provide the information for their insatiable contentment and or by chance . Without any strict survey and statistics analyzed , the author fails to presents that the products and service from Good-Taste Company is poor and the final conclusion is groundless .
Additionally , the argument is also unpersuasive to state that the food from Discount is good . Firstly , the evidence to show well quality of meals from Discount company is just sources from the author himself/herself, however ,strictly speaking , only the third-party's information could make sense in this kind of argument
considering of the author's personal bias . Secondly, even indifferent are the author , his/her gustation , however just once ,cannot represent the whole company's ,it is very possible that the majority of employees reject the food served by Discount Company . Unless the author show convincing evidence to present that the food from Discount is better , the argument is open to doubt upon this aspect .
To sum up , the statement by author is lack of evidence so that it fails to suggest that Good-Taste should be replaced by Discount ,and which will finally improve employee satisfaction . In order to strengthen this argument , the author should provide
direct evidence to show that food served by Discount Company is better than that served by Good-Taste Company both is taste and quality . Strict analyzing is also needed to show that the satisfaction by the employees from the Cedar will be improved just due to the replacement . |
