TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

As a matter of fact, the issue of whether education can be truly effective only when it is specially designed to meet the individual needs and interested of each student is a complex and controversial one. There is no universal answer to this question, so various kinds of people can hold conflicting opinions due to their distinct backgrounds and values. As far as I am concerned, I completely disagree with the author. My view can be greatly substantiated by the reasons addressed below.

Admittedly, it is reasonable to some extent that education will be truly effective when it takes the needs and interests of the students as the standard. As is known to all, different people have their own ideas and opinions. It is impossible and harmful to make a general schedule to force everybody to obey it. It is a practical idea to teach students in accordance with their aptitudes.

However, there is a misunderstanding that every of us has known their needs and interests. Some students have no goals or directions in their future lives, let alone needs or interests in the current. For those students, designed to meet the individual needs and interests is a waste of time. It is meaningless and unnecessary for them to meet the demands and the requirements. Even assuming that they have a clear picture of their needs and interests, their minds and ideas are changing along with their lives with the increase of their age.

In addition, some students play computer games and watching video all the time instead of learning science and technology. Their normal lives have been replaced by a series of monotonous and boring affairs. For instance, it is reported that two students have fallen in love when they were young. The two young students are so busy enjoying the sweet love that they have no time to arrange their time to study. In the end, the boy student has been ordered to drop-out and the girl student has to repeat the year's work to stay down a year. They needs and interests have beyond the intensions of the education. Therefore, education will not be effective all the time.

In my observation, education will be truly effective when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. Also, it will be effective without meeting the requirements for each student. Let us take an example to illustrate the point. Thomas Edison is a famous scientist. He invented the electric light bulb through a number of experiments. When Edison was young, he is so stupid that his teacher called him a fool. His mother was called to school and then her mother made a important decision. She took Edison to leave school and taught him herself. Edison reached his goal without any education designed to meet the needs and interests.

To sum up, education will be truly effective in many other aspects, which, unfortunately, I have no time to explore in detail here. But the above discussed reasons should in a large sense justify my conclusion that education can not only be truly effective when it is specially designed to meet the individual needs and interested of each student, it is also useful and meaningful in other aspects.
