Without ideal, there is no secure direction; without direction, there is no life.” However, as the acceleration of social rhythm, some people who are attracted by some short-term interests or some external success might tend to believe realism. Yet it is definitely a mistake to ignore the significant role that idealistic view plays in the process of gaining long-term true achievements. I persist that both pragmatic behavior and idealistic view contribute to seek the substantial fruition.

For the first thing, when it concerns the business world, although most people deem research of new product, development of new market, and draft of sale, which might be considered as pragmatic decisions decide a company’s profit, idealistic point of view should be significant connotation of company. Ideals which often come from the senior management team, guide each strategy, pragmatic decisions, must derive from strategy. Take Lenovo, one of the greatest computer manufactures all around the world, for instance. Without the leader’s ideal that he want to construct Lenovo to be an international advanced band, all of its strategies might be limited by a native development structure, and it would become a normal band just like other Chinese computer bands today, not to mention the purchase to IBM’s personal computer business. Thus, ideals of senior management of a company will decide how great its final achievement might be. Certainly, we cannot forget that practical plan will decide how well the strategies progress either.

Then, in considering the political world, people might be attracted by those bright political slogans, which could be considered as idealistic views. However, just through practical specific plan and implement of the plan in a long term, an ideal could become realization. The Declaration of Independence which was proposed in eighteenth century’s America claims that all men are created equal. Even if President Lincoln declared the liberation of slaves in civil war, Martin Luther King led the climax of civil rights campaign in the last century, and numerical unknown protestors strived for equal and respect in the past 200 years, all of which could be considered as practical behaviors, today’s America cannot make sure that all its people are treated equally. For another example, communism’s biggest advocator Soviet Union disintegrated in last century because of lack of pragmatic measures to continue such an ideal. In contrast, the practical reform and opening-up might be the chief reason of China’s persistence on communism. So no matter how the political ideal attracts people, without pragmatic behaviors, ideals might be just ideals forever.

Considering about other domains, nearly all successful cases are created by the cohesion of ideal views and pragmatic behaviors. For example, Spielberg’s idealistic points is the spirit of the movie, meanwhile how to create such scene as ideas in his mind is as important as those ideas.

To sum up, I believe not only idealistic opinions but also pragmatic behaviors contribute to the successes. Taking the idealistic opinions as guidance, the pragmatic behaviors as realization necessary, might be the best way to success.
