ISSUE13题目:
Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct.

Should the government take measures to prevent the world's lesser-known languages from becoming extinct I strongly hold the idea that the government must save these languages from deaths, as language is a way to communicate and it also represents culture and civilization of a country or just a specific group of people. A newest statistic from UNESCO warns that more than 2000 languages are facing with threats of extinction. Languages make the entire world like a whole family, how can we just leave our family members alone and let it vanish or perish and show indifference?

Language, which is a tool used by different kinds of people to communicate with each other, benefit we human beings a lot. Date back to ancient times, for instance, the hieroglyph, though simple, has some specific meanings like the sun, the moon, food, tools, locations and so on. Our ancestors used it to talk with each other, transfer information and show different emotions. Since this language is understandable for a specific group, even a small group of people, this explains why there are thousands of languages in this world. Diversity of languages causes different group of people form its own ideas, culture, civilization, living habits and so on. We all know the four great ancient civilizations, each of them has its own language. We may don't know much about the language of ancient Babylon, India, Egypt, but look at today's Chinese, the words are concise and well structured, and some words which are called terminology also have something to do with the ancient's great events and therefore reflects the culture of China. Apart from Chinese, China also has its sub-languages that are spoken or used by minorities. Each language is used by a group of people, if these people die, then the language is vanish, that means everything about this group of people, culture, ideology and so on is gone forever.

Why do so many languages disappear? The reasons may lie in such aspects as globalization, market economics, war within or outside the country and so forth. Many aborigines abandon their motherland, their languages and customs to fight for better lives. War also triggers the disappearance of the languages, since the small group of people died or became slaves, their language was died out through unwillingness. What is gone is not merely the language, but its culture, ideology, civilization, customs, etc since music, literature, medical recipes and some other things all use languages as carriers. Without these various kinds of culture, today's culture world will become so dull and monochrome, furthermore, we won't have access to see the diverse world and thus cannot form different angles of view, as well as ideas toward the world around us.What's more, some great inventions which may change the world may also gone with the extinction of the languages, the countries. It is eagerly recommended that the government of countries in which the dying out languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct.

It is a great pleasure if the government takes some actions such as forming peaceful ideas on the political stance and resist wars, calling for its residents to preserve their languages, taking efforts to conserve or share with the world of something relate to the language--inventions, books, valuable records, etc. In this way, people around the world can learn a lot more of the world around them and form particular perspectives of the culture, the civilization and share the great science fruits; which will expedite the advance of the world in almost every aspect.

To sum up, languages are so important to us and the world around us, no matter to culture, ideology, civilization and so on. The extinction of the languages will cause inestimable losses to the whole world. Take everything into consideration; the government should take immediate acts to prevent such lesser-known languages from dying out.
