TOPIC: ISSUE94 - "Universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student's field of study because acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines is the best way to become truly educated."

Education, with the definition of "pass on information of the former generation to the next,so that cultivate a person in a knowledgeble way to survive in this world." has always treated as the priority task of human beings. However,
there is a grwoing concern over the issue that how to educate people is effective and deserve? Should we specialized on one particular subject or call for variety of courses?
On balance, I concede that exposure to variety of courses is more desireable.

Efeective education should be all-around. What is educating a person is just like fill water in a cask. Imagine a cask which used for containing water. What if the boards of the cask are not in the same level, that is to say, some are short nearly reach to the bottom while some are two meters long. Do you think this cask could own two-meter high water? Definitely not. Only if all the components in the same level can contain enough water.

Every subjected is intertwined with each other to some extent. Since nowadays, with the rapid development of technology and boosting of information, there is a more and more intense relation among every dissimilar subjects to cooperate together to serve the demand of the society. One task may require various kinds of knowledge. For example, the rescue of the financial crisis we confronted right now, not only the outstanding economist are required on their duty, but also experts in sociology are demanded to analysis the psychology of the citizens. Another example, if one archeologist wants to make some extraordinary achievements, then knowledge on his own subject is
deficient to come to any conclusion, lores on history and genetics cannot be neglected.

Comprehending various courses can help further understand one’s own specific subject. It is clearly that you cannot devote in physics without the solid base of mathmatics, as mathmatics exercised their ability of acurate and logical thinking on problems which pyghics calls for. And you also cannot fully understand something on biology free from the foundation of chemistry, as only some chemical reaction can explain the particular phenomenan of biological changes. No one subject is independent evloving so that call for students to learn variety of coures outside the student's field of study.

On the other hand, only through comprehensive learning can one acquire the adequate education. People who possesses broad horizon can perceive the world in a deeper and wider manner which would not limited in one area like others. They identify one object with dissimilar and overall perspective. All-round education lead to novelty creation of the subject which bring about revolution of our technology and increase of human life. That is the destiny of education.

In conclusion, all-round acquiring of knowledge is proposed to students in any field of study. Specific will lead to limitation and only obtain of various course will develop the ability of learning and further progress the adequate education.
