Which type of education should be advocated, the goal of acquiring various knowledge, or the goal of adopting experts in some certain realm? There is much controversy over this issue. The author presents that universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student's field of study. I, here, partly agree with the author's viewpoint. In my point, the students should have the access to all kinds of knowledge, who simultaneously should also be educated with the deepen knowledge of their own fields.

To begin with, i concede that, by receiving the education of various academic disciplines, students in universities can develop their knowledge in all kinds of subjects and it will be more easy for them to find where their real interests are laying. First, interests are based on the awareness. It is obvious that we would not say something our hobbies even when they are not acknowledged by us at all. We don't know them, how could we be interested in them? On the contrary, when the students are studying some subjects and are progressing greatly in those subjects, with their understanding of the subjects more and more deepen, they may probably feel more interested in those subjects. Second, the education of various academies makes us have a more understanding of those fields, which advokes our possible interests on them. For example, Bill Gates, who is famous all over the world, was ever studying in the law school of Harvard University. But by the education along with him, he found that his really interest was in computers. With determination, he gave up his academy and opened up his software company Microsoft, which helps to his success in his career. Truely, that's the very well-organized education that helps countless individuals to change their career in time into their real interests and finally succeed in their lives.

The different fields, though seemingly not closely related to each other, may actually contribute to the progess of each other. The concept of developing in harmony is receiving more and more attentions in the society of the new era. And as the science and technologies are growing, the importance of interdisciplines tends to be more and more attractive to people in all kinds of fields. For example, bioinformatics, developped from two subjects - computer science and biology - and mainly interested in the biological theory by using some kinds of computer technologies, is now in great progress, which will be more likely to play a key role in our daily life. Even more, Artificial Intelligence, a subjects in computer science mainly interested in the research of intelligent design of machines by human beings, actually needs the combinatory background of many academic fields, such as psycology, computer science, mathematics, biology and so on. From these examples, we can concludes that the interdisciplines will definitely be one of the main roads that our science research is going on in the future. Thus, the education of various disciplines does good to the students's own development.

Though acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines is important, the further education on the knowledge of a certain field is also necessary in the study of university. After all, the improvement of our society and scientific academy is mainly dependent on the experts in all kinds of fields. Though the individuals with a large range of knowledges are important in the history of our civilization, the experts actually do their contributions to the progress of our society, since they can be mining more information of some certain fields that can be difficult enough for others to get access to. Because of the attention focused on some certain problems, the experts can turn out to be more diligent in solving such problems than those who have abundant knowledges. Therefore, while engaged in eduating the students with various kinds of subjects, the universities should never forget to adopt some experts in every fields.

To sum up, the education of various disciplines and that of certain deepen area are equally important in the comtemporary education of universities. With good balance of them, our society will definitely progress in a most efficient way.
