130"How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

The notion 'socialization' is used to refer the process of learning about one's culture and how to adapt with it.The issue brings out an complex question about the relationship between children and the society.However I seriously suspect with the conclusion it raised.

There are two main aspects I cannot get into agreement with this issue.The first is that whether the degree of children's socialization depends the destiny of society.I agree with the idea that socialization can make children find who they are,what this society is,and how to live in it comfortably.While we cannot equal this with that socialization is such an most important factor that can determine our furture.Getting adapt to our society,as one of the effects of socialization,cannot help our society much in its process,because human can only pass down knowledge while cannot create wonders without the spirit of creation;comprehend the ideology of our society,as another effect of socialization,cannot help our society with its construction of moral,because not every person can control himself only with the known towards code of ethics but also many other elements like conscience or honesty to prevent them from doing immoral things.consequently,socialization of children is not the only and most important thing which can determine our future,lots of other factors play the same role too.

In a addition,we can still find many problems that over-socialization brings to our society.Such as the over-heavy burden of study on students and over-weight burden of work on adults,all of which may bring psyologic problems to people and cause amount of problems.According to this point,I seriously wonder that which level is the perfect level of socialization involved in this issue.

On the other hand, the issue argues that we have not learned to raise children to bring about a better society. We can seriously  doubt that what is the definition of better here. Is it more modernized? Is it more harmonious? Or is it more tolerant?I think as there are a thousand reader, there are a thousand hamlets, different people have various definition towards this notion. consequently, we can just be sure that socialization can help children get adopt to society, we cannot assure that whether socialization can help children make any contribution to built a better society. The fact is, nowadays, what children need to improve is not the extent of socialization. Comparing to their parents' childhood, they are more open towards sex, they  are more seasoned when dealing with interpersonal problems, they appears more mature, they know lot about our society. What they need to improve is tolerance, team-work spirit, honesty, the spirit to ensure hardship and so on.

Otherwise, since the various definition of 'better society', our aim and methods of education appears vague. In most times, parents educated their children according to their own value system, which is hard to ensure right of wrong. And these causes a lot of social problems. If parents overweight value children's intelligence developing, they may enforce their children to study day and night which will certainly harm their health; if parents overweight vaules interpersonal ability, their children may get too precocious.

To sum up, although socialization can help children to recognize and adapt our society, over-socialization is also harmful. And it is narrow to say that the extent of children's socialization defines our future. To educate children well, we must set up a general and right education evaluation system, from that we can show our children a correct direction, we can find a useful method for their education.
