Ecology PhD Offer UIUC
10月陶瓷，老师表示兴趣。但是对我的6G不满意，幸好我10G重考，成绩满意，但是WA还是不够，汗...这个标准好像是符合系里面的fellowship的要求。
1.8陶瓷，两个老师，陶瓷老师和new professor，后来后者成为我的导师。内容基本是学术内容，主要是我的实验，兴趣，课程，老师对项目的介绍。历时50分钟。之后要发信感谢老师。
2.6发offer， fellowship+RA, 系里面负责25%，导师75%，具体专业是SOIL SICIENCE。但是老师打算以后做物种入侵和微生物水体净化。老师还有作什么“飓风”后生物变化的.....
感觉申请陶瓷很重要，我面试HKU一个老师说，GPA相关的课程看一下，所以专业课不能搞得太难看。G，T过线他们就不看了，推荐信好像没提过，有就行。有时候对于成绩太高的学生还不敢直接招，害怕太会考试的学生不喜欢动手实验，因为他之前吃过这样的学生的亏。搞学术还是动手，学术大多数时间还是干活，不是搞发明创造。

高兴中。几个月前已拿到了fellowship， 但直到今天才得到第一个admission。 个人背景较复杂，或许无甚参考价值。但因为我一直很期待别人报offer的同时能报上背景，所以在此分享一下自己的背景及经验。实无炫耀之意。
专业：ME/AE
本科:海外烂校。研究生:韩国名校。
研究背景:在海外烂校、韩国名校、中国名校及英国名校做过研究。
(因为兴趣很广，所以研究方向也很广，一直在换field 。其中研究过aeroelasticity, noise & vibration, composite materials, fiber optic sensors, wireless sensors, piezoelectric actuators/sensors + Lamb wave, RF MEMS & power harvesting microsystem。博，但不深。但估计还是有一些帮助。PhD 想做nanotechnology)
U GPA:全系第一。M GPA:4.23/4.30。
T:108 G:610+800+3.5 (硬伤)
推荐信：不算大牛教授。但他们肯定有很多的内容可以写。
陶瓷：有。发了８封套词email（但没套UCLA的教授）。５个给了不错的答复（１ Berkeley，１ Caltech，３MIT），但都不敢guarantee，因为竞争太激烈。
论文:发过一些马马虎虎的paper。正在努力做研究，希望去美国之前能再发两三篇journal，但可能性不大。
课外活动:在某方面是全国冠军，曾代表国家出赛几十次。(估计有帮助)
奖项：拿过不少奖学金。本科毕业模范生、最佳运动员。(估计有帮助)
我也申请了别的学校，只求AD。但坦白说，机会不大，毕竟牛人太多。(就算真的拿到名校的AD，也没有把握能pass他们的qualifying exam。我是真的没信心)。但还是希望Berkeley能收容我。
衷心感谢寄托里的每一个人。没有你们资讯与激励贴，我老早就放弃了我的美国梦。希望大家都能获得满意的AD/offer!!

今天早上收到的，没陶瓷，没面试，deadline前2个星期开始申请的，比较晚。
上个星期五看到有人有了，情急之下，星期五美国central time 9：30pm给系里打了个电话（知道肯定没人，我就是想留言，让他们知道我的存在，呵呵，真是不自量力）。又发了询问信。星期一早上central time 8:02就给我发信了，而且不是回复，就是直接发的。估计是牛牛闪据了，就砸到我了。。

申请的是USC的chemical engineering的MS，之前也是随手申的，AD狂校人人皆知了。
但是我寄材料的时候没有寄财产证明过去，现在学校说In order to comply with U.S. Visa regulations, you must provide an affidavit of financial support before an I-20 or DS-2019 can be issued to you.
我还想观望，不想从，毕竟USC实在是太贵太贵了，小土匪一头
我想问大家的是，如果我把财产证明寄过去了是不是就默认从了呢？还是说财产证明寄过去只是补齐我的申请材料？
