Postdoctoral and graduate positions are available in Dr. Huiwang Ai’s lab at UC Riverside (http://ailab.ucr.edu).
实验室有以下几个研究方向:
Protein engineering and optical bioimaging
Molecular probes for redox signaling and oxidative stress
Fluorescent probes for neurological signaling
Protein- and peptide- based therapeutic agents
Novel bioluminescence systems
因为近期得到大量的NIH和NSF的资助,希望能招收5名博士后或者博士生。
-------------------------------
博士后的方向:1. molecular biology (多名), with previous experiences in sophisticated molecular cloning, gene library construction, and/or protein engineering;2. mass spectrometry/proteomics, with preferred experience in identification of post-translational modifications; 3. animal imaging or neurobiology. 考虑到现有人员组成,不打算招聘更多只受过有机合成训练的博士毕业生。
The researcher is expected to be self-motivated. Please send your CV (education history and publication list), and contact information for three references, to huiwang.ai@ucr.edu. In addition, please indicate in the email your research interest, how it fits into our research program, and your expected career path.
UCR, established in 1954, is one of the ten general campuses in the prestigious UC system. The 2015 Annual Academic Rankings of World Universities (Shanghai Jiao Tong) ranked the UCR Chemistry department 41st worldwide (25th in the U.S.) based on academic performance. The Nature Index, which is published by the Nature Publishing Group, ranks UCR Chemistry 30th in North America based on high-quality scientific publications. UCR has an excellent environment to conduct research!
Riverside is a southern California city about 40 miles east of Los Angeles and 75 miles north of San Diego. The small-city feel and proximity to the large metropolitan areas allow you to experience the best of both environments. Like the rest of Southern California, the climate is generally mild and sunny, and Riverside was recently named on of America's top ten Most Livable Communities. The Pacific Ocean is located about 1 hour west of campus, while the San Bernardino Mountains and ski areas are located about 1 hour east. UCR's location is ideal in the sense that you can take advantage of a large variety of recreational activities near campus. Southern California is a vibrant metropolitan area with many industrial jobs (e.g. biotech jobs), which should benefit your long-term career!
