i would like to provide some more information about tggs, which is where i am currently at.
tggs is an international collaboration between one of the thai university, king mongkut's university of technology and rwth aachen in germany. unlike a typical department, tggs only focuses on master and phd degree (note that this is a european style phd where you need a master degree before applying for the phd program).
in my case, i am in the electrical and software system program and i am currently trying to create the first architecture research group in thailand (i am the only computer architect in the country who still publishes at good venues). our program offers scholarships to students, and based on the project the students are working on, i can also find additional fundings to pay for students' stipend as needed.
my goal is to ensure that myself and any future students in my group can still push research boundary and publish at top-tier venues (i.e., i am hoping that my students will have at least one paper to conference listed on csranking.org), and i am hoping to use my current network to send students to good companies (or good universities, depending on the students' life goal).
