Please note that this is an international student so if you accept them there would have to be a top up to help offset the fees. The difference between Canadian tuition fees will be more than $9,000 dollars per year. Further the international student must buy UHIP insurance. So the total additional money is approximately $11,000 dollars that an international student must pay. Any financial package offered to an international student must take that into account. In exceptional cases, if the student has his or her own money, this can be taken into account. But our office will need verification.

Yes, if an international M.Sc. student has the financial ability to provide that extra $11,000 per year for themselves, then it may be possible. The base amount of $23,000 a year would be paid by the research supervisor (e.g., me). You would not be self-funded - you would only be paying that extra $11k.
