My career interest is to investigate in the optimal and innovative risk management practices for the traditional financial industry. This interest was originated from my internship experience at ×× Bank, the third largest bank in Korea which has been enthusiastic to expand its business in China. Working in the Loan Service Department at that time, I have spent a lot of efforts in tasks including analyzing the branch’s liquidity pressure tolerance, screening corporate and individual loan applications, evaluating creditability and debt-paying ability of clients. In these tasks I gradually shaped an understanding of the various risks in a commercial banking enterprise. It occurred to me the practices of risk management broadly specify business activities at all levels of the bank. It helps to ensure that each employee not to pursue their own interest in the expense of the bank’s overall financial safety. I saw the intellectual challenges and significance of risk management practices, and specialized my study to this domain in my later endeavors.
