Paul College’s STEM designated Ph.D. in Economics is nationally recognized for its dual focus on training research economists and college teachers. Students can earn a Ph.D. and the Cognate in College Teaching. The Cognate is a certificate program that includes coursework and mentoring in teaching economics. The program has a superior record of placing graduates into tenure track assistant professor positions as well as positions in industry and non-profits.
prerequisites for admission to the Economics MS and Ph.D.programs are completion of the following courses: Calculus 1, IntermediateMicroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Introduction toEconometrics. Linear Algebra and additional calculus/math/statisticscourses are strongly recommended.
