因为对自己的分数过于失望,发邮件给了若干学校,只有以下的回信,但是分数也没有想象中的重要.

Our average GRE scores are in the 500s for both the Verbal and
Quantitative sections and a 5.0 for the Analytical writing section.

Each component of the application is weighed equally. At this point,
until we see your final application there is no way to discern what can
compensate for your low analytical writing score. You do have the
option of taking the GRE again because we take the highest score.

Dear Applicant,
For the MA we require a combined 1000 on the verbal and quantitative portion of the GRE, for the PhD the minimum is a 1200.  For the Analytical section we look for at least a 3.

It’s great to hear from you so soon. The Graduate Admissions Committee looks for a TOEFL score of 600 paper based / 250 computer based / 100 internet based. The Committee looks at all parts of your application file – not just one element (like the analytical writing score).

The admissions committee looks for a minimum of 1000 on the GRE—adding the verbal and quantitative sections together.  The average admitted GRE is 1250 (V+Q scores).
