Issue147 Tradition and modernization are incompatible. One must choose between them.------正文------ 40min
In my opinion, modernization is the process of the development of human society, not only in material but also in thought. However, tradition is what people obey or celebrate routinely, which formed in history. Must we choose between tradition and modernization? I doubt it, and in fact, the society is being modernized by people with tradition.
Admittedly, during the modernization, we do lose some traditions for several reasons. One is the change of human's conceptions. Unlike our ancestors, with the accumulation of knowledge and development of technology, we do not fear thunder and think of rain as a mystery, so those ceremonies to express our respect to god, which have been considered as tradition, were forgot by people. In addition, the correction of some wrong ideas leads us to changes some traditions. For example, when women won their equality, a men with many wives becomes guilty in China, however, before this era, tradition indeed ruled that wife should not exhibit her jealousness about other wives of her husband. All in all, the improvement of human's cognition contributes to many changes of tradition inevitable.
However, the above statements is unequal to agree that tradition and modernization are incompatible, because, we should not neglect that many traditions are conserved and developed with the process of modernization. The westerners are still celebrating their Christmas, Thanksgiving Day, Valentine day, and many other traditional festivals. Modernization does not change the need of expressing our love, sharing our happy, and getting with all loving us. For these traditions, what modernization does is just fulfilling them with new content. The Santa trees are full of colorful lights instead of candles, we send e-mail with music and animation instead of a paper card to express our feelings, and we can get together before TV to welcome new year with people all over the world. In this sense, modernization makes tradition more interesting and colorful.
Furthermore, modernization can create new tradition for a nation. It is well known, tradition is not unchangeable, and it is a created thing also. With the modernization, international communication increases, which sometimes brings a country the other culture's traditions. China, for example, has also begun to celebrate Christmas day. In valentine day, people falling in love begin their own celebrations as well. I believe with the modernization there will have more and more new festivals.
In short, though modernization have make many traditions disappear, there are still many left. Moreover, the modernization also endows the tradition new content and brings new traditions for a nation. All these things verify that tradition and modernization are compatible on earth. In my opinion, modernization is the process of the development of human society, not only in material but also in thought. For example, when women won their equality, a men man with many wives becomes guilty in China, however, before this era, tradition indeed ruled that wife should not exhibit her jealousness about other wives of her husband. All in all, the improvement of human's cognition contributes to too many changes of tradition inevitable.

In short, though modernization have make many traditions disappear, there are still many left. Moreover, the modernization also endows the tradition new content and brings new traditions for a nation. All these things verify that tradition and modernization are compatible on earth. 结尾最好再强调一下one needs not choose between tradition and modernization detail_yyy
Christmas, Thanksgiving Day, Valentine day [ write in the some date will be better: T, C and V]
what modernization does is just fulfilling them with new content[ is fulfilling with? I am not sure, just feel strange]

Admittedly, during the modernization, we do lose some traditions for several reasons.下边好象要跟reason,但是加的是changes One is the change of human's conceptions.
buggod
Issue147 Tradition and modernization are incompatible. One must choose between them.

In addition, the correction of some wrong(会不会太直接?) ideas leads(?) us to changes(to do ) some traditions. For example, when women won their equality, a men with many wives becomes guilty in China, however, before this era, tradition indeed ruled that wife should not exhibit her jealousness about other wives of her husband. All in all, the improvement of human's cognition contributes to many changes of tradition inevitable.
However, the above statements is unequal to agree that tradition and modernization are incompatible, because, we should not neglect that many traditions are conserved and developed/preserved and generated with the process of modernization. The westerners are still celebrating their Christmas, Thanksgiving Day, Valentine day, and many other traditional festivals. Modernization does not change the need of expressing our love, sharing our happy, and getting with all loving us(what’s the meaning?). For these traditions, what modernization does is just fulfilling them with new content. The Santa trees are full of colorful lights instead of candles, we send e-mail with music and animation instead of a paper card to express our feelings, and we can get together before TV to welcome new year with people all over the world. In my opinion, modernization is the process of the development of human society-not only in material but also in thought. However, tradition is what people obey(follow)or celebrate routinely, which formed (in去掉)history. Must we choose between tradition and modernization? I doubt it, and in fact,(去掉the) society is being modernized by people with the help of tradition.
Admittedly, during(去掉the)modernization, we do lose some traditions for several(certain 感觉好点) reasons. One is the change of human's conceptions. Unlike our ancestors, with the accumulation of knowledge and development of technology, we do not fear thunder and think of rain as a mystery, so those ceremonies to express our respect to god, which have been considered as tradition, were forgot by people.(尽量不要举宗教的例子,还有,这个例子虽然不是很“宗教”可是不是很贴切,不畏雷电不意味着现代化,而且恐惧雷电和传统无关。 In addition, the correction of some wrong ideas leads us to changes some traditions. For example, when women won their equality, a men with many wives becomes guilty in China, however, before this era, tradition indeed ruled that wife should not exhibit her jealousness about other wives of her husband. (这个例子还不错,如果能举成美国人更了解的女权主义更好)All in all, (the improvement of human's cognition 还是用mordernization更切题) contributes to many changes of tradition inevitable(用副词,或改为强调句:It is inevitable for mordernization to ).(这段只举了一个concept的例子,有了one,其他的呢?)
However, the above statements is not equal to agree that tradition and modernization are incompatible because we should not neglect that many traditions are conserved and developed with the process of modernization. The westerners are still celebrating their Christmas, Thanksgiving Day, Valentine's day, and many other traditional festivals. Modernization does not change the need of expressing our love, sharing our happy, and getting with all loving us. In this sense, modernization makes tradition more interesting and colorful.(这段的例子不错)
Furthermore, modernization can create new tradition for a nation. It is well known, tradition is not unchangeable, and it is a created thing also. Ways we act nowadays will be treated as tradition in the future
