Researches, as the means by which human beings use to explore the real world and the truth, is reshaping the world every day, the speaker claims that all investments spent on researches are worthy without considering whether the results are beneficial. I agree with the speaker insofar. In my opinion, with the awareness of solutions possible harmful results of the researches, investments on research is worthy.
To begin with, it is impeccable that all countries should invest fort researches, the development of technology and science has lead to astronomical knowledge, with the results of researches of the world, distinguishable difference of both physical and spiritual level appeared between developed countries, which can utilize the researches better, and developing countries. The standards of technology and science basically determines the level of a country. Under these circumstances, it is the quest of the development of technology should a country focus on. What is more, as we all know, the continuation of researches can be assured only with sufficient
funds and investments. For countries, those who possess technologies that can significantly enhance the production of wheat, fruits and vegetations are in an superior level to a profound extent than those less developed countries, people of which are still struggling for food. A man who has sufficient physical provision are more time to proceed more researches instead of worrying for his next meal. The difference of results of research between two countries might results in more significant differences in other areas, which is the reason of more distinguishable differences in technology.
Secondly, the investment spent on researches is not only funds for technology, but also the quest for advanced world, the discovery of human beings and the improvement of spirits, it is transcendential investment. For a single research, the beneficial result can be utilize in everyday
lives while the
harmful result does not lead to bad endings. Firstly, in a short term, the discovery of the harmful results can avoid parallel utilization, which is beneficial for human beings to the larger extent. Secondly, to the whole evolvement of human beings extent, those harmful results might be better used so that they turn to be beneficial results with other development of technologies. just like the development of radioactivity, the radioactivity was harmful in the past when discovered in ores while it can be used to experiment the age of fossil, which is beneficial now. There are two sides for everything, it is quite often that only one side can be found, the other side needs time to prove.
Nevertheless, even though investments for researches seems so worthy, there are certain sort of researches, before people being aware of solutions of harmful sides, should not continue. Can anyone exclaim the answer of the question “who is the man cloned form you?”. IS him yours? Should him possess all rights? The argument never stops, There are some results people have not been prepared for yet. For these researches, as I mentioned before, should not be invested, even should not continue. Unless fully understand the possible results and the responsibility of such researches, the application of these researches might be too hasty. However, in spite of those results people are not ready for, these beneficial and can be utilized results, might be part of the harmful results, are still be encouraged to focus on and worth investment. The abandon of cloning a person does not equal to the abandon of cloning a cell, a organ, considering the clone of cells and organs can be used to heal ailments, these results that can be well controlled and utilized are beneficial.
In the end, every coin has two sides, money spent on researches, even the results of researches are harmful and controversial, if people are ready to face on the possible consequence of the utilization of the results ,are worthy, failure teaches success, not to mention the possible potential benefits of failure.
