Humanity has made little real progress over the past century or so. Technological innovations have taken place, but the overall condition of humanity is no better. War violence, and poverty are still with us. Technology cannot change the condition of humanity.

Position: 人性的发展不是通过外在手段实现的，而是在于人们内部自身人性的不断觉醒和提高。

1上个世纪人们的人性状况是有所进步的。（用一些方面说明这些进步）尽管还有些不完美的状况存在。

2同时人们认识到人性进步的速度比技术进步的速度缓慢的多，技术的进步是人们为人们提供了外在的方便，提高了人们外在的生活环境。但是人性的改善不能依赖以技术的改善。这就是为什么还有战争暴力和贫穷的存在

3人性的改善要靠自身内部的提高。

The development of the technology has been simultaneously with that of the humanity, although the speeds of their development present a striking contrast between the technology and the humanity, people should be conscious and admit the existing of the humanity developing. However, some people would like to attribute the development of humanity to that of the technology. In fact, in my point of view, the change and the progress of the humanity should depend on the human beings themselves, the help for which people can turn to the technology is trifling.

Human beings cannot ignore the progress humanity has made over the past century. To many countries in the world, from dissolving the conflicts among the countries only depending on the force of military to the international negotiations; to some of the societies, from excluding the heterodox believes and thinking different from that of the mainstream in the society and using the extreme cruel means to punish the people who are holding them to viewing such ideas and the people with the critical and subjective attitude; to the governments, from neglecting the suggestion of their people to giving some attention to most of them; to the general people, from showing indifferent to the rights and positions of themselves to fighting for the change of the conditions consciously. All of the changes have demonstrated the process of the humanity from the uncivilized condition to the recovery of humanity over the past century, although the condition of humanity is not perfect enough at present and people are still suffering from some problems, such as war, poverty, and violence.

Therefore most people should realize the progress of humanity over the past century is trifling compared with the increasingly rapid development of technology. The advanced technology has changed the physical condition of humanity existing to the largest extent, and the changes will keep going on in future. Consider, for instance, the technology that enables computers help people to deal with many things in their lives and work easily. And the advanced technology also helps people to explore the areas which they have never reached before. But the case is that, just as being the means of many respects, the technology is not something essential that to improve the condition of humanity due to the bad things in the humanity such as war, violence and poverty stem from certain aspects of the human nature, for example, aggressive and greed. That is the reason why there still exist such imperfect phenomena of humanity. More over, technology always acts as a two edged weapon on the condition of the humanity, without the correct direction of the good things in the human nature, the greater progress the technology made the more harm it would do to the humanity.
  
In order to change the imperfect condition and make more progress of humanity, people should realize the significance of depending on the internal improvements of themselves. Some aspects of human nature like aggressive, greed, jealous, all of which would result in the defective condition of humanity. It is almost impossible to eliminate them thoroughly from the human nature, but people can make efforts to control such bad respects in human nature by means of the moral and the laws. In addition, people can turn to the education for help as well, which can cultivate people’s mind, make them hold a firm belief of dignity and ultimately realize the internal improvement of human beings. The enhancement of humanity condition will lead to a world of peace, mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation, which is a perfect situation of all human beings.

In summary, over the past century human beings have benefit from the development of technology a lot, however, technology is not the key point to change the condition of humanity. In order to realize this change essentially, people should depend on the internal improvement of themselves.

感觉这是人误用科技的结果。先进的科技给人类一个肆意的发展平台。搞的现在嚣张的要死。
