Ph.D. fellowship opportunities are available in Spring/Fall 2015 for nuclear energy materials research in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University. The research is focused on the study and development of advanced ceramic materials for nuclear energy applications, such as waste forms, nuclear fuels and their behavior under extreme conditions. The financial support consists of fellowship, teaching assistantship and research assistantship that will be secured through the student’s graduation.

Highly self-motivated applicants with backgrounds in Materials Sciences, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics and other physical science or engineering disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply. Hands-on experience in materials synthesis and characterization (e.g. XRD, TEM) is a great plus. Successful candidates will be admitted to LSU in the Spring or Fall semester of 2015.
