8月的最后两次同主题练习了。能坚持到现在的同学都很不容易。这两天除了写提纲，欢迎大家做一次issue模考。题目回复可见：

When it comes to the major choice, many students have a tendency to be trapped in a dilemma that whether they should take the employment into consideration or not. Personally, given that it varies from person to person, I do not agree that all students should make a decision based on the job capacity. For students from deprived areas who need to support their family as soon as possible after graduation, it may be a better choice for them to choose a major based on the availability of jobs in that field. However, for those from affulent family and students who are determinate to dedicate themselves for a certain field with great passion or a extraordinary talent, they should stick to what they want instead of being controlled by the job market.

开头段写的不错   job capacity -  availability

To begin with, there is no denying that the major reason of some indigent students attending college is to land a decent job with a handsome salary for supporting their family, which requires what they choose to major in should has a promising employment prospect. That is to say, choosing a field based on the future employment situation is a safe and quick way for them to achieve their goal, namely supporting family. For example, the field of economics which not only does not require a long time to graduate but also earn a satisfying salary realtively easily may be a good choice for them. In such case, they can also get a sense of achievement soon which many students from deprived family are long for.
这一段在具体叙述时没有讨论availability of jobs 为什么economics专业的工作较多  需要解释  


However, as for those from affluent family, they should choose a field more based on their advantages and interest instead of employment factors, since they do not have too much economic pressure. In other words, that they are fortunate to be born in such a family without too many financial concerns decides they can enjoy more freedom when choose a field to study. For example, if a student from rich family who would like to study art which costs a lot and even is hard to find a job with the high salary in a short time, he should just follow his heart and choose art as the major without such tuition and future career concerns.

后面的解释时应该强调即时没有合适的工作 也可以啃老  和前面的条件呼应起来  


In addition to students without economic worries, some students who are determinate to dedicate themselves for a certain field with great passion or a extraordinary talent should not resign to the employment factors. It is not sensible for them to give up what they really like and waste of their gifts when they consider the availbility of jobs too much. It is universally acknowledged that every field requires top-notch people as leaders in the field, and anyone can enjoy success in whatever job. If they are really gifted for a certain field or they have a exceptional passion in that, they can finally make it if they stick to it.

determinate 我觉得如果有exceptional talent会更合适吧 光有决心有什么用呢  即使在一个工作不多的领域 金子也总能发光的

In conclusion, whether college students should choose a field based on the employment capacity depends on individual case. As far as I am concerned, students who have a great economic need and want to support their family as soon as possible should take such factor into major consideration, while those without economic concern or with great passion or a huge talent for a certain field are supposed to stick what they really like instead.


总的来说，写的不错；在借鉴我的思路时要小心，尽量换例子和表达；PIE模型中，E的环节还是比较弱。

55.In order for any work of art—for example, a film, a novel, a poem, or a song—to have merit, it must be understandable to most people.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

There has been much debate about the standard of evaluating the work of art. Some contend that the virtue of art depends upon its comprehensibility to the general public. In my opinion, this should not be the case since many great works of art remain esoteric to most of the public because of, synchronically, the cultural barrier between nations and, diachronically, the generation gap between the old and young generation. Instead, I will argue later that the merit of art lies in the comfort conveyed to the viewers and its liberating function to the minds.

The fact that many great works of art seem hard to understand cannot be justified as an excuse to agaisnt its greatness because the cultural barrier between countries might hinder the public understanding.
   e.g. Chinese calligraphy
   e.g. Chinese poems, rhymes

In a similar vein, generation gap between young and old is another cause to the intangibility of great works of art.
   e.g. Victorian novels
   e.g. Shakespeare's sonnets

In this case, it is obvious that whether a work of art could be understood by most people should not be regarded as a standard of its virtue. As far as I'm concerned, art should be evaluated by its liberating power to minds, that is whether it brings comfort or stimulating power to the heart.

As a higher education, collage not only aims to help build students a healthy and full sense of value, and it should also provide students the ability of further work. Students in collage should always base their choice of a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field as that kind of choice is beneficial for their more prepared career, their own life and the society.

框架可见 语言表达需要改善
as doing so is beneficial for the students to prepare their future careers, improve the quality of their life and contribute to the society.  


To start with, the choice that college students base study field on the availability of jobs in that field can lead to a more prepared career. Every different kind of career has its own special and unique working technique which need much experience and time spending on it. A student in a rather hot or great expectation field can have a more clear awear of the future career plan. So if a student is decided to choice of a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field, at least he/she has awared the importance and advantage it is.

没有具体的例子 也没有将availability of job和career development联系起来 缺少有力的reasoning

What’s more, choosing study field on the availability of jobs in that field is kind of responsibility for their own life. Many kinds of good careers, like the computer science and law, are always company with good salaries, which could provide a comfortable life for them and make themselves inspired to reach to a better life. Everyone need fair reward to their time and energy spending in that, and in many not so good field, students could only get half or even lower salary on the same working time, only because that career is so bad that anyone works in there couldn’t get rid of that situation.

is kind of responsibility既然后面是在讲工作带来的经济收入和生活质量 在主题句里就应该挑明  


Moreover, students basing their choice of a field of study on the availability of that field’s jobs is beneficial for the whole society. College education is not always suit for the social career requirement; more often, many major in college is rather need for the social. With the limited sources and college students, for the benefit of the whole society, choosing study field on the availability of jobs in that field is quite effective for the complete use of social education source.

既然是从宏观的层面上讨论 或许可以谈一下这样做有利于学校的课程改革 更面向市场需求


In conclusion, whether for a more prepared career, students’ own life and the whole society, college students should base their choice of a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field, it’s essential for both individuals and society, which could make less job losing and a more harmony society.

Everyone has to make a lot of choices every day. As for our students, the choice of the major is one of the most significant ones that will exert great influence on our life. To choose the field of study, in my opinion, college students should consider the availability of jobs after their graduation. Besides, their own interest and the career prospect should also be considered.

题目用的是base 你用的是consider这两个词的意思差别很大  在考试时如果不抠题目的字眼就很容易偏题 要特别小心


Whether the job vacancy is available after graduation is an influential factor for college students to think of. One of the goal for students to enter college and study hard is to earn great fortune and live a decent life. That is why finance, IT and accounting are always among the most popular subjects. On the contrary, only a few number of students choose to study archaeology or politics due to the difficult to find a job after graduation.
整段除了开头并没有讨论availability的问题  
其实这道题反对要好写得多 比如availablity 意味着不需要太多竞争 不需要竞争意味着失去动力
比如availablity可能不可预测 等等  



Admittedly, job availability is important, personal interest should also be considered. If a student is interested in the field he is studying, he will show more enthusiasm to delve into it. For instance, the great translator, Zhu Shenghao, kept his great enthusiasm for English translation in his life. When he started translating Shakespeare, professional translators at that time were quite difficult to support their life and Zhu was no exception. However, his deep interest in Shakespeare works supported him to endure the hardships and adversity in life. As a result, his translation of Shakespeare works becomes a classic edition in China and his name is remembered by many Chinese people. Therefore, follow your heart is also important when choosing your field of study.  

跟另一篇的点评一样 这道题其实可以讨论其他因素 从而否定原命题中的base  
但是最好能结合availability这个概念来写 可以提出如果对某个行业有兴趣 即便这个行业职位不多仍然可行  



Moreover, career prospect is also an important factor that may influence students’ choice of a field of study. Take the Financial Crisis in 2008 for example. Before the crisis, international trade and finance were popular among college students for it gave students access to international large companies. However, the Financial Crisis made many international businesses and investment banks go bankrupt. During the several years after the crisis, many financial workers lost their jobs, making college students pessimistic toward the choice of finance or international trade field. Therefore, the prediction of the career prospect is also a considerable factor for college students to consider.

In conclusion, the choice of their field of study for college students are based on several different factors. Job availability is important to decide which major to choose. However, individual interest and the career prospect are also worth considering. Thinking comprehensively is beneficial for college students to avoid job failure in their future job-seeking.

Without a job is almost equal to without income. And anyone without income can’t normally carry out his or her life. And the salary should also be commensurate with the college degree. It would be absolutely ironic that a college graduate can’t find a proper job or the salary is too low after his college education, which is not the aim of college education. So students should be clear that the field they choose will ensure that they will find a job in the future. But this aspect should be emphasized too much. For instance too many Chinese students studying economics worries Chinese government that some jobs in the future may be in shortage of person. Great majority of students applying for one field of study because of good future work will ensue after the emphasize, which may cause great upheaval of the society.

Only concerning about future availability of jobs is not enough. What’s more, students’ own interests are also of vital importance in shaping their future. Interested in what they learn, students will find more energy and confidence in their study, thus ensuring a better academic performance. Interests grant that they will always be devoted to their work and never get bored even get immense in their field for a long time. Patience and enterprise in work are all derivatives from interests so in this sense interests are more important than jobs concern.

还是缺少具体的例子 上一段讨论的是谋生和找工作的问题

Some one may contend that education is aimed to ensure students a better future, a better life so only jobs with high salary should be the ultimate purpose. However, this king of view is too narrow. The true purpose of education should be fostering students with strong learning ability, creative and critical mind, and complete personality. Not matter what field they choose, their education is successful once they achieve the criterion above. And students with such great abilities are free from worries about find a good job. Harvard’s purpose of education is not to train students to be skilled in a specific field. They emphasize on the college’s positive influence on students’ growth about abilities and personality. For students, only being concentrated on jobs and salary will deviate from the true purpose of education. They should focus more on the cultivation of implicit goods rather than explicit money and fame.

这里讨论的内容似乎并没有挑战你前面的观点  

So from the above three aspects--job and salary; interests and purpose of education, we see the importance of other things in shaping a student’s future. So we should grant equal importance to these items rather than only bialy focusing on the job availability.




真的难，主要是慢，我觉得这个题构思不是很难，但是操作起来不太好想案例，写完以后稍微做了一下做修改。

This issue concerning suggest that the availability of jobs should be college students’ major concern when it comes to choosing a field of study. While I can’t agree with such claim for the reason that interest is a much better impulse for one and one certain field’s thrive is unpredictable. SF Moreover, one’s interest and talent in can always offer him an opportunity even if employment rate is substandard WC.

First of all, as the saying goes, interest is the best teacher. For students who have interest in his major, they would like to spend time on researching and try their utmost to solve problems . The majority of subjects needs researchers devote themselves into it for getting a little progress. Only people with interest for the result would like to sacrifices their leisure time for it. With interest works as a implosion in their researching, they can make progress easily and satisfied by that . Take newton for an example , he showed his talent in physics since four and get addicted to it . He can’t stop relating his daily life to physics theory everyday even then he rest under the apple tree. Because his interest in physics, get hit by an apple didn’t anger him but inspire him . that’s how he discover gravity. Interest is a lure in one’s life , it makes people digging truth out of nothing .

原题的关注问题是选专业是否应该基于job的多寡 那么这道题所关注的点就是学生的职业发展 你需要指出基于兴趣选专业更有利于职业发展才算切题啊  


Furthermore, the availability of jobs in a certain field is unpredictable for the fact that the world market changes every single day. It takes a student four year studying in university and there are difficulties in telling future of his field. For example, the construction business really had its heyday at the beginning of 21c. Citizens had a hunger for new apartment and stores . Contractors was building new architectures everywhere : in big cities and countryside . The price of real estate kept going high and apartments sold like hot cakes from the oven. Thousands of students choose major like architecture , designer, engineer only for getting good jobs. But four years later , the business lost the heat and went down. Some graduates could find jobs and employees get their salary cut . It is unwise to follow the trend only for employment because the market trick people sometimes .

Moreover, devote WF oneself to his interest which has few opportunity for job seekers doesn’t mean a dead end. Because interest is more likely to lead one to success . The student who has a huge interest in his major and devote his time into it has a bigger opportunity to make some achievement. And if he can be an elite in his field, offers will come to him. Steve Jobs had a hard time in his business but never gave up for he know where his interest is, he showed his first personal computer to his potential investor in the garage and get 300 grand dollars investment. The opportunity comes to you if you are qualified enough to the position.


To put it in a nut shell, college students should let their interest lead them to their field but not the market employment situation. For business changes every day but interest keep stills and it will offer you the opportunity you want if you really followed it hard.

It is stated that the surest indicator of a great nation is represented by the general welfare of its people rather than the achievements of its rulers, artists or scientist. I partially agree with the statement and believe that all these factors matter importantly to a great nation. To be a great nation or not, the indicators would be constantly changing and the most definite indicator might mean differently to different stages of the governance.

To guarantee the welfare of its people, the nation have to firstly strengthen its economic, political and cultural competencies attached with rulers, artists and scientists. The different stage of development may be associated with different indicators but not the welfare of its people. Great nations such us United Kingdom and other European countries went through numerous wars and battles to expand its territories in sacrifice of their people’s lives when these nations were taken considerations as the most powerful nation in the world. The inevitable transformation stage couldn’t put the welfare of the people as the surest indicator but these nations are undoubtedly the great empires in the world history.

In the peaceful age, the surest indicator of a great nation is bound with overall national power and the welfare of people has been included as the consequence of the great governance in various aspects. Welfare is the consequence but not the benchmark on a great nation when considering the historical facts, cultural and religious background. For a small nation, the welfare might be easier to manage for its people in comparison with big populated nations and the greatness would belie in its creations of prosperity in culture diversity as well as the momentum of the young generations. If a nation failed to build up an opening and strong system for its people, the welfare indication couldn’t become the most prominent factor and secured eternally. Therefore, it is not always correct to put welfare indicator as the priority to evaluate a nation even in the peaceful age without historical contexts of a nation.

A nation’s greatness couldn’t be disconnected with the general welfare of its people and a nation for people is always regarded great. Issue Test:
I don’t agree with the statement and believe college students should base their choice of a field of study on their own interest rather than the availability of jobs in that filed. The primary reason is future job market is so unpredictable nowadays and the new challenge for young generation is to create new jobs with application of their learning experience in college years which is driven by their own interest and passion. Additionally, college students should prepare themselves in cross-discipline study not only in one field but two or more fields to create new industries out of the vision at the current stage.

我觉得用非母语写作文不要标新立异 首先要考虑在自己语言表达能力范围内选一些比较靠谱的观点和例子 能把话说清楚 有基本的层次结构 其实就有机会拿4分了


The current job market is changing dramatically along with high technologies and globalization. College students couldn’t predict what will happen in the next five to ten years when they are studying. The choice made in accordance with the job trendy market might be secured for the time being but couldn’t cover the emergent factors to be bold and wise. Ellen Mask and Steve Jobs are the most well-known representatives to illustrate how the field of study is related to the job. They are driven by their own interest and intuition of career development rather than following a text book or prototype in self-development. Actually it becomes the challenge that every one would have to face nowadays.

Furthermore, it limits a person’s potentials by choosing the study to only fit into the job market needs. The industrial times has been gone and every college student should be encouraged to seek for their interests and passions by trials in attending different fields of study via elective course system or gap year. The top education providers have already created the space for students to explore their passions and interest and it is students and parents that should be more open-minded to the choice. It is admitted that the knowledge couldn’t be the only power to fulfil the achievement but one’s grit, passion and interests that would be the final call to create valuable life.

Last but not the least, college students should be on their own after fulfilling their study in college and they need to consider what job they would like to take and the factor of job expectancy shouldn’t be ignored totally in the selection of fields of study. Alternatively, students should make balance between the job market needs and their interests. For instance, students from Engineering should not only look at their own disciplines but also be more knowledgable to the other related fields such as project management, environment sustainability, climate study so that when they enter the industry abundant choices for them to choose and create cross-industries based on experience accumulated through the internship or first piece of job available in the job market.  

All in all, it is essentially important for college students to be open-minded in selecting their major of study based on their interests but not the visible job at the current stage to limit the life possibilities.

Should college students be encouraged to take their field of study on the basis of the availability of jobs in that filed or just select filed that truly interest them? From my point of view, pursing interest should be prioritized over practical concerns (for students from well-to-do families). but students with financial difficulties may find it more important to take courses that will lead to decent jobs. It is also worth pointing out that students can choose fields based on their interests while also taking classes to improve their employment prospects.

最后这个点可能反过来写好些  Some people argue that students from poor financial background should also have the rights to pursue their interests... Yet, they can always take some elective courses to do so  


Interest is the most powerful motivator in students’ academic endeavors so pursing subjects which interest them may lead to greater academic achivements. When students face challenges in their classes, they must have a firm belief that helps them to carry on or they might simply quit. Although the prospect of a well-paid job may seem like a strong motive, it is actually far less effective than personal interest. This is because when students strive for decent careers, it takes a long time for their effort to pay off. Consequently, their motivation could fail whereas personal interest could sustain them. Therefore, in order to make greater intellectual achievements, students should be encouraged to choose field of study which really interest them.

Behind the claim that students should take fields likely to result in promising salary is the assumption that it is possible to determine whether or nota specific academic filed is capable of leading money. This assumption may not always hold true because the job market changes quickly and can be hard to make accurate prediction. For example, in the field of job market, there are incessant changes these years. A few years ago, fiance was the most popular choice for many students because it was helpful when searching for a job. It did not take long, however, for computer science become dominant and finance market it no longer popular. In short, such “useful ” fields can become obsolete by the time students graduate because of the short timescale of changes in the job market. This is definitely not a desirable outcome for students.

However, students suffering from financial difficulties may dependent on a promising career to improve their economic situation. They may prefer to place more emphasis on filed that can earn more money than what they are really interested in. In this particular situation, the argument that a interest led career choosing will not hold true because the desire to change one’s financial situation can be extremely powerful.

Finally, it is also necessary to take into the underlying assumption the debate that fields which interest students are different from those lead to a decent income. This is problematic and does not always hold true. Even in the fileds that seem to have few practical connections to the real world can still teach students vital skills needed to secure decent jobs and succeed in their careers. For example, advanced therotical physics involving abstruse ideas may seem useless in the job market at the first glance, but these filed is essential to provide us the keys into investigating the world of unknown. So it can lead to jobs of course.

In conclusion, it is beneficial for students to pursue fileds that interest them but students should take their financial condition into consideration when making decisions. Job avaliability and interests should not be irreconcilable: there are both interesting and remunerative jobs.

To begin with, if the college students interested on the fields such as computer science, physics and mathematics, there is no need to prepare too much for the further jobs because these fields require pure research work and have very weak link to the jobs. For example, the computer science researches should only focus on their programs, and the results of their programs have both academic value and commercial value. Thus, if the interested field linked weakly with jobs, students are not persuaded to focus on the career.

However, if the college students interested on the fields such as management, financial analysis, it’s better to prepare for the further jobs. Besides, if you are planning to make your own living after your graduation, choosing these fields would also be a good idea. For example, business management has close links with actual jobs, it’s important to focus on the availability of jobs because business management require your experience and the knowledge of cooperation within a company which you will use in the career in the future. As a result, if students interested in the fields linked strongly to the jobs, they’d better to prepare them in the college major earlier.

One may challenge that if students interested in the field as financial analysis, there is also no need to focus on the availability of jobs because many colleges also have financial institutes focuse only on researches instead of joining the jobs. I would admit the fact that different colleges have different focus on the same field, while the intrinsic of financial analysis linked very close to the actual business. The data shows about ninety percent of the financial analysis researches are worked based on the actual reports from enterprises. Thus, if students interested in financial analysis, they’d better join this field in college early.

In conclusion, whether to choose a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field is depending on the interest of students. If they interested in the fields are not very closed to actual jobs, they don’t need to choose the field on the availability of jobs. If they interested in the field strongly linked with their careers, they would be persuaded to choose a field on the preparing for the job in that field.

   In conclusion, this statement may hold true when considering the less rich students. But for those who are not worry about the financial problems, they should focus more on the fields which may help them gain useful and beneficial skills.

Obviously, most of the students are frustrated on their future majors of study. Due to their limited knowledge about the college courses and especially the obscure understanding of themselves, here comes the dilemma, whether we should base on the availability of jobs or the proclivity of previous interest in choosing a field of study. Because of their pure preconception on all fields, it is more likely for students to form their interest on their jobs. Just as for children first come to school, all their motivation on learning base on their initial curiosity of the world. Therefore, for freshman in college, it is nature for them to learn the subjects on the basis of inner curiosity. Second, due to their practical living requirements after graduation, subjects which are more available in market will enhance their opportunities in job hunting.

However, if we have a definite interest on the subject, I suggest students should adhere to their inner desire. Only inner desire can motivate your self-learning, which may help you get through lots of difficulties from lives. For instance, most of the celebrities in the history such as Einstein and Confucius prove the interest as their power resources. Without focus by any predecessors, the obscure lab assistant kept studying on his own and finally established the theory of relativity. And for the teacher Confucius, without any adoption by emperor from his theory, he still traveled around in order to trumpet his announcement, cultivating people the correctness of social relationship, justice and sincerity.

However, someone may argue that if student’s interest is not available in today’s job market, it is irresponsible for him to stick to such choice. In my opinion, I disagree with such decisive effects from the above arguments which suggests that people can predict the trend of market in the future. Practically speaking, just as the truth that those currently available jobs may gradually become needless because of the increasingly supply, those jobs which are less required today, may turn into an attractive career in the future. On the other hand, the establishments of every college courses in different fields rely on their material demand from the society. Therefore, it is just a matter of the magnitude of demands in market, but no decisive claim that there is no available opportunity in less popular subjects.  

To sum up, students should balance their consideration between future demand in the market and inner interest on choosing the field of study. From the view of a material living basis, it is reasonable for students without tendency to choose jobs that are more available. On the other side, students who stick to their own interests are not necessary to be concerned on the future accessibility on their subjects.

It is a hot topic that college students should give priority to career prospect when they choosing their major subject. I partly agree with the clim. It is important to analyze the situation depend on students' different background. Students in poverty have to consider career prospect first to release economic pressure in time.On the other hand, students have rich families can depend on their interests with family support and talent students should concentrated in their major area to make more contributions to the society.

Firstly, students in poverty face to economic pressure, they have to consider jobs needs first to release it. So it is realistic for them to choose an appropriate filed that can offer them jobs with a considerable salary. For example, many students have student loans to pay their tuition. In this way they have to find a stable economic source to repay it after graduation. Meanwhile, many areas,like arts and literature, do not have enough stable positions for graduations or the salary is limited. So students with economic pressure should choose a filed which can help them repay the student loans.

On the other hand, students from rich families can make the choice depends on their interests with family supports. Like the famous architect, Zaha Hadid, she changed her major area from mathematics to architect with family support. Her family company even invested in some projects in her earlier stage. Family supports can play an important role in their life, they need not to worry about the problem of food and clothing at least. And they can dig into the area they like without economic pressures.

In addition to talented student, they should insist on their major area even with help from society to make more contributions. The society development depends on technology improvement. Many scientists lived a poor life before they make an achievement.Society provided them scholarships to pay the tuition and many companies site foundation to support their researches. Without scientists' selfless work, some areas would face many barriers. Therefor talented students should choose the area by their gifts.

To conclusion, students should choose their major area base on their own situations. Student in poverty should face the realistic problems, students have family supports can choose depend on their own interests and talented students should not give up their researches with society helps.

Choosing a suitable subject to study in college is a crucial decision. There is a claim that job requirement of this field of subject should be considered as the basic condition. However, for being responsible to themselves, it is better for college students to take their interests and capabilities as the foundation to make the choice. Because these two factors decide width and depth of their future career which could also influence one’s life-time happiness.

Admittedly, as the competition of employment is increasing, job availability is a important factor need to be took into consideration. But it is never the basic one. It should be put after one’s interests and abilities, which are the two main reasons to lead the choice. There are some students who were forced to adjust their field of study to cater the market. They did avoid struggling to find a good job and got a better salary in the beginning of their career. But after five years or even longer, some of them are bored of their work because they lack interest, some of them found it was hard to promote because they were not capable of it. Without passion and power, job is just a job, far from career. These people who choose study for job now live for work.  

To choose a life career, one should never let alone his interests, the resource of passion, which could be the best support to overcome difficulties in the future path of career. Common people usually spend 8 hours in their work, some job requires even longer. Whether they are happy or not in the one third of a day decide not only their life quality but also how long they would persist on their career. If the job is beyond interest, people could quit easily because of the lure from another job or inadequate faith in their own job. In that case, 4 year college study in this field is worthless. So choosing a college major based on the job availability is groundless.

Besides the interest, people should get to know their own ability of what are they capable of doing and what are not. Some jobs need talent, only 4 years of studying is not enough to make a person equipment for them. Take art relevant job for example, if job market need many creative artists to paint or design, it is still not unwise to choose the art subject, unless the students really have some good sense of art. The reason is clear, college study cannot make an average student creative enough to be an artist. Choosing such kind of field to study, the most possibility is that, one cannot find a job after graduate even there are great need of it. First is know yourself, and then is to choose a field.

In conclusion, when deciding which subject to study in college, one’s interests and capabilities are the most important indicators to be evaluated. Working out of interest, it is easy to go far in this career; and focusing on what people are good at, they will perform better to get a higher proposition. Meanwhile, at any time, to respect oneself, job requirement should not be the first consideration.

Nowadays, as the international competition is increasing, lots of countries acclaim they are a great nation to give their people more proud and try to gain more honor from other countries. But what is a great nation? There are different characteristics to evaluate, though the statement address the average welfare of people, leaders’ achievements of the nation and its science development are the top two indicators.

TS1: Admittedly, people’s welfare is considerable to evaluate a nation, but it is not a good indicator served as the greatness of a nation.
Eg1: rich nature resource could nurture a satisfied welfare like some primitive tribes, but without modernization no one would label them as a great nation

TS2: To be a influential nation, a great leader is a significant indicator, whose decision will make great effects on the nation’s policy and economy.
EG1: wise diploma could gain a good international status

What is the right major for college students? There are two seemingly contradictory views on this issue. I support the former view because the students’ major does determine their future career and the argument arbitrarily regard the major and job as the same.  

To begin with, it is significant to distinguish the major from the future career and realize that the fundamental capabilities of a promising person are universal rather than different between subjects. For example, the ability communication, time management, leadership could be applied in almost all fields. Students major in their interested subjects could also acquire those abilities. Leaders in big companies and even presidents come from various academic background but have some abilities in common.

What is more, with a good command of one’s interested field, his/her ability in one field could be applied in another job-related field, and somehow being more creative than others have limited knowledge in one field. For example, the aesthetic taste used in computer design. Steve Jobs…

Besides, it is dangerous to abide by the view that choosing a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field could promise the students’ future career. Subjects relevant to current jobs before one student entering college may be out-of-date when the students’ graduate. Every year, thousands of new jobs appear in this high-rapid world, and it is hard to say whether the specific ability relevant to a certain job could still be useful years later.

It is a common issue, confronted by all the senior high school graduates, that whether one should choose his major for the sake of the availability of jobs in that field. Indeed, considering a university student will devote four years in that field, it is exactly a big problem, which should be taken good consideration of. However, there has always been a great dispute over the question. Some people may take the job prospect as first priority, while others will not. In my opinion, although job prospect is essential to students, the job market is unstable, and a student may have other concerns. Therefore, one should not only consider the availability of job, when choosing which subject to study.

Admittedly, job prospect is an important factor to consider, which should not be ignored. Considering the fact that the majority of the family is not wealthy enough to support the student after graduation, the student must attempt to secure a job to support himself. Plus, the knowledge and skills he learnt in university is the most important factor for him to compete in job market. Indeed, a lot of students major in liberal arts, arts, and some basic subjects, will find it typically difficult finding a job. Thus, a lot of people will persuade the high school graduates to choose computer science, statistics, accounting and so forth, as their majors. However, this recommendation is also untenable in some respects.

The fundamental reason why I do not take job prospect as the first priority is that, no one can predict the future condition of the job market. It is known that, a student will spend four years in university before he plunges into the job market. Moreover, a career needs one to devote his whole life and passion. Therefore, it is unknown whether his major will still be competitive after four years. In the past, environmental science is a quite small subject. However, when the environmental problem is getting increasingly serious, the government will need a lot of personnel having a good knowledge of environment, to solve the problem. Similarly, although computer science is hot in today’s world, it is unknown before 20 years ago. Regarding the unpredictability, it seems to me that it is quite unwise to choose one’s major only based on the consideration of job prospects.

On contrary, as far as I am concerned, the students should consider their interest as the first priority. The reason is quite simple, because only if one has enough love and passion for a field, he can do great work in that field. It is hard to imagine that Bill Gates to be a successful lawyer, because he showed little passion for law, although lawyer is a good job in his time. In this term, as long as one has considerable passion and love in that field, he can find a job for himself. Despite the fact that liberal arts majors find difficult getting a job, it is still possible for them to be a great teacher, translator, journalist and so on. If all the people get to learn computer science or other so-called hot subjects, the world will be tragic, since it is impossible for all the people find their meaning of life in that work. After all, happiness and passion really matters. Otherwise, we will be the slave of work.

Based on the analysis above, I think one should not only consider job prospect when he is going to choose his major, although the availability of job is also an important factor to think about. However, before the student concerns the job, he should take his interests and passion into careful consideration. After all, choosing a major is not only choosing a job, but also choosing a field to devote his four years, even his whole life.

I would consider a great nation if it has made positive impact to the development of the contemporary world. Given the identification of the greatmess, general welfare would not be nesissary represent greatness of the country, while achievments of its people in politics, art and sicence truly do.

TS1:Whereas there is no doubt that a nation where people enjoy high quality of life is admirable, the general welfare of the people does not nesessary indicate that the nation is great. When people have access to abundant material goods and high quality of education, they will be likely satistied with the high standard of living. But it does not follow that the nation have impressive contribution to the international community. Maybe the nation earn great reputation through being known for a comfortable country to live in, nevertheless, these wealthy countries do not deserve the label great nation,unless the world have benefit a lot from them being exist.

TS2. According to the identification, great nations are those that cultivate exceptional leaders in the fields of politics, art and science whose great works benefit not just their conpatriots, but people all over the world. Rulers of the great nations, always busy dealing with affairs of their own countries as well as concerned with international issues. The presidents of the United States, have devoted themselves to building up the country to be a super one, meanwhile, they had also act as leaders in the black liberation movement, which enfrichise the black from suffering being treated as slaveries around the world. Consequntly, no one will deny that the US deserve the honor being great nation for their relers’s impressive contribution to the world.

TS3:         In another way great nations have great influence in improving the development of the world through through scientsts’ imprssive patents and discoveries. Going to college will be a very important timing in people’s life, because it will be a career start for most of them. Thus, students should be serious about how to choose their field of study in college. It is said that how their choice of a field of study should depends on the availability of jobs in that field. I’m not really agree with that because a lot of aspects should be considered such as students’ interests, the development trend of that field.

To start with, admittedly, the goals of study is mostly are finding a job after graduation. It is reasonable to search some information about the availability of jobs in that field in which students want to study. It is not easy to argue when people don’t want to choose a field because of there are not such many job opportunities for them. My brother change his field to study because he have to make a living. With his own study major, he can’t find even a basic job.

However, this is an few instance. choosing a field to study can’t be just narrow down at what jobs there are in society. What we need to do is be imaginary and broaden our mind. As society developing very fast than we thought, situation and the jobs change dramatically. For instance, when it comes to Internet, the job environment changes a lot. The number of newspaper and bookstore decreased, and the people who work for them are fewer and fewer. Does it means people who liking writing lose their job? Not at all. The electrical bookstores come out and people can even read electrical newspaper. Several people can change their job from corporeally to virtually. What I’m saying is, people choose literature field they want to study would not be changed by the availability of jobs.

Finally, Interests will be the best teacher for you study. It would be meaningless if you are not interested in your study even through there are tons of opportunities available. Take myself as an example, I spend 6 years to study construction management with the origin motivation that jobs are easy to hunt in construction field. However, after I graduated and find a job easily, I find out it is really tortuous to do something that you are not really enjoy. So I rethink about my career and make a new choice which are base on the availability of jobs in that area but the choice from my heart - to be a doctor.

To conclude, even though we should think about the availability job in the field your study, it should not be the only reason to choose your major. Still, you should consider what your interests are and the development trend in that career track.

Somebody acclaims that if we are going to evaluate a country's greatness, we should access whether its people enjoy a peaceful and happy life rather than the achievements of its leaders, artists or scientists. From my perspective, a nation's greatness should be considered on whether it has made positive impact to the development of the contemporary world. I will illustrate my opinion from some certain circumstances from ancient times to modern times.

First, it is desirable that the people live wealthy and happy lives, while the welfare of people can not be the sign of a nation's greatness, for the reason that high living level can not represent that the country is influential in the world.

According to the statement, the first question that is necessary to ask is what is a great nation. As far as i am concerned, a nation that makes great contribution to the world in the aspects of science and technology, or the peace of the world can be said great. Therefore, i argue that It's not available to use the general welfare of its people as the surest indicator of a great nation and i will give some examples to prove my point.

To begin with, the great general welfare of one country's people can't represent a nation great.Take an example of Irap.As we all know, Irap is famous for its abundant oil and its people are very rich by selling a great amount of oil to other countries. However, with the decreasing number of oil output, Irap wants to raisw the price of oil to earn more money that causes serious threat to other countries' economic devopment. Therefore, no one thinks that Irap is great in the world  although it has a great general welfare of its people.

Sometimes, we say one country or nation is great not because of its general welfare but its great achievements in science and technology that make great contribution to the development of the world. For example, America is considered a great nation by people all over the world for its outstanding achievements in science and technology, such as the internet invented by americans. In the contemporary society, internet has a close relation with people's life and shorten the distance among people all over the world that can help the companies make business with others from other countries on the internet . There is no doubt that internet lets people's life more convenient and makes great contribution to the globalization of the world's economy. It goes without saying that America is a great nation for its achievements of science and technology.

Apart from the achievements of science and technology, contribution to the peace of the world can also be considered an indicater of a great nation. I can come up with any better examples than China. China has sent troops of protecting the world peace many times to some places where are full of wars to protect the world peace. Besides, China donate a great amount of manpower and material resources to many developing countries in tha Africa to help them develop the economy and shorten the gap between the developing countries and the developed countries . What China does to the world peace is admitted and respected by all countries and sets a great image for China to the world.

In conclusion, if people have different definitions of a great nation, opinions on this issue will vary greatly among people. In the statement, the author thinks that college students ought to study in the feild that is easy to find jobs. It seem to make sense, as some one may think the jobs determines our future. But before agree the author's view, we also need to consider our attribute, the validity of the study and the nessesity to study just for a job.

For one thing, if we just make a decision only by the outer conditions, it is not so proper sometimes. In this claim, the author hope we could choose those fields by the availability of those fields, but we also should make sense that if we have the ability to delve the fields.we need to learn ourselves better to know if we are proper to this field. Otherwise,we may have a mistake to choose this field, as we may get a good grade and get a nice job, but we may be not equal to the job. Then, it may be difficult for us to have the room of prompting（promoting）.  In this condition, we may feel tired and even earned less than the field of we like.

Moreover, we also should check the validity of the so-called research which tells us which field are more possible to find a job. The need of kind of jobs could be vary in some years. For example, the teacher in the past in China is a job that have a big need, and at that time many students choose the field of teaching to study. To get a job of a teacher, they even forsake the choice of studying in college. However, as you can see, we have plenty of teachers now. In some distance, they indeed have a job of teaching, but how could we say that they have a better life than most of the other students? Job is something relate to belief, not equal to money, at all.

Although it seems like utilitarian to consider job availability to decide the field of study, I still agree with this point. With the development of economy and society, there are many fields need exploiting and making research deeper to make more progress and innovation. Where there is demand to exploit or develop, there is job availability. Therefore, the choice of a field of study should be based on availability of the job, which can give you clear career and resources about your future.

To begin with, after college entrance examination, many students decide to go to university because the higher degree they get, the more opportunity of job they gain. Although we may be not very clear about what we want to do in the future, we still consider which field of study can give us good future. Most people plan their life to have a steady and good job after graduating from college or after finishing their study in graduate schools. So when considering about the field of our study, it’s clearer and better for us to take job availability into account because clear aim for job give us exact guidance.

On the other hand, thinking about job availability is like the direction of study and we can find relevant resources and what we need to do during the lifetime in universities. Take myself as an example. I major in public health and I want to continue my study in nutrition when going to graduate school. I made that decision in my fourth year of college. However, when I tried to find a relevant job to have some experience, I was in a dilemma because I don’t have much more experience of research and there are just a few opportunities. Then I find that I’m too late to consider about my career and I miss many resources which can give me much support. I learned from my failure that job availability is closely linked to college study.

In addition, I don’t mean that we just choose a field of study we can find a good job, but it is a basic element. We can also think about interest because inspiration and motivation can encourage us to move on. And there are some other factors such as personality, family and so on. Sometimes it’s controversial among those factors, but I think we need to take job availability at first. We can select in several stages to make sure what we choose to study.

In a word, job is a key issue to everyone and study is an eternal issue through or life. So making a good choice of your study can give us more opportunity of job. Also, everyone can depend on themselves to make choice. But, to be rationale, we need to consider about job availability to help us collect useful information and resources, leading us to doing well in our career.

Whether only experts' critical judgement have value?  As far as I am concerned, this question should be determined in a side-by-side basis. That is, in some foundamental subjects such as math and phisics and in the field of engineering, the experts' judgements are more valuable. While in the field of publication of articles, critical judgements from every researcher should be respected.

On the other hand, the common, less familiar with the feild and less insightful than the experts, would hardly propose some valuable or proper critical judgements.

In order to a qualified expert, people must have comprehensive knowledge of various mechanics as well as experience in solving actual problems happening in the construction of a project, maybe the construction of a bridge, a turnel, or a road. Because their opinions concerns the success of a project worthy of billions dollars, people would therefore tend to listen to experts advicement.

As is known to all of us, most academic articals would choose taugh issues that have not being researched thoroughly. Therefore, it is possible that each article would have some flaws or researching points that deserve further study. With the development of technology and pervasiveness of media's influence in today's life, it has been more and more difficult for many well-known figures to hide something they would not like others to know. Therefore, many people argue that with more and more flaws being exposed, no living man or woman can be considered as heroes by the society after thoroughly scrutinized by the media. Though it is true for fields like politics, it is not the case when comes to the scientific and business field.

Firstly, it is hard to find a politician that is well-regarded by the overall society as hero giving contradicted nature of the politicians. Often no matter who is considered as a hero by some people, there will always be disparagement from the opposite side. Mostly, politicians are the people who balance the pros and cons when making a formal decision to benefits his or her citizens, but will necessarily to satisfy everyone in the society. In addition, politicians usually hold more authority in the society which leads to more expectation and requirement of citizens on them both in their public and private life. Media nowadays seemed amplify the voices of those who contradicted, when they can pick up every little flaws covered by the media as a point they could call question upon. However, in fields like scientific field it may not be the case, as the criteria people use to decide whether a particular scientist is a hero or not is rather simple-- simply what the achievement they have made that would benefit the society as a whole. Yuan Long Ping, who was called the father of hybrid of rice, is one of the living hero in scientific field. He improved the quality of hybrid of rice to produce more rice within one plant, which saved hundreds of life of hungry people all over the world. Although media covered many about Yuan's personal life and scientific achievements, the real focus of people are always the achievement he had made.

Similarly, in business world, people are also more open-minded to minimal flaws but focusing on the real achievement the celebrity has been made.  In fact, thanks to constant media exposure and information overload, more and more people started to realize the fact that nobody's perfect, and so do the heroes. Steve Jobs, in his living time, was no doubt considered as a hero because of his significant contribution to smart phones and computers we have been using nowadays. However, at that time, there are many media institutions covering his personal life, revealing him as an arrogant person and an irresponsible father, yet most of the people still see him as the true model in the business field.

To conclude, although heroes are hard to exist in field like politics under closely scrutinize of media because the contradicted nature of politics and people's high standards on these people, it is possible for scientific and business fields to have well-known hero as general public often pay more attention to the real achievement that celebrities in these fields have made.

Nowadays, finding a job after graduating from the school is not easy as the past, so some people argue that college students should choose a field of study regrading to the availability of jobs in that field. However, I strongly disagree with this proposal as it may do harm to the students’ future development in long term. In addition, it can bring to students’ life unhappiness and trouble.

Just base their choice of a field on the availability of jobs may let people choose the field they are not actually interested in. Plus, they will feel desperation about life. Many people choose to end their life because they feel no hope in life, and feel so depressed about their career. So, we can see that, in long term, choosing a job only base on the availability of the jobs can lead unhappiness in daily life. But if they choose a job depending on their own interest, they feel excited about life everyday because they are doing the things they enjoy.

Some people may argue that if they did not choose the most available jobs, they can seldom get a job in the future. However, if we scrutinize this argument more carefully, it does not consider about the unpredictable factor of the future. No body can say absolutely that a field of study will not provide enough job for the graduated students. So , if we are not so sure about the future, why not choose a filed that we are fond of and begin to work for it from now on, perhaps our effort can make change to the future that make it become the most popular field.

In conclusion, it is not right to case the choice of a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field, as it can do harm to the future development of ones career, and also have negative impact on their happiness in long term, plus, we should not too much worry about the availability of the field we choose in college because no one know clearly about the future,

Students who will entrance the university always face the problem of major choosing, which is essential to their future. Whether or not students’ choice of their studying field should based on the availability of jobs in that field, from my point of view, depends on what they pursue. For those who want to find a job after graduation and those who have no idea about their future, this argument is true. For those who want to find a job after graduation, the availability of jobs in a field is of great importance to them. We all know the great variety of  major in a college. There are some students who have no idea of what they want to do even what field they would like to engage in. They may find their interest  or may still feel confused after the entrance. For the latter, choosing a field of study with more job  opportunities will provide them with a more stable future. At least, they have accumulated some work experience and will not be too unqualified to find a job. For those who find themselves prefer academic research after study in the college, practice experience will also help  them link theory with practice.

However, for those who want to contribute themselves into  academic research, finding a job may seems less important to them than writing a good essay. What they should do is to study further. Some may argue that these students still have to find a job in the future and there are many unemployed doctoral students. I agree that graduating with a doctoral degree do not ensure employment. However, what we are talking about is college students and for most who want to engage in academic research, they will study further in the future.

There is no doubt to consider this factor in priority due to its importance and necessity in career goals and planning. In my view of point, however, the above-mentioned decision is worth thinking more comprehensively. That is to say, people should aware the purpose of studying and what they are studying for at first, as well as how to choose the fields of study insightfully.

To start with, the purpose of studying might vary from person to person. Based on different viewpoints towards the purpose of studying in the college, students would make distinct choices on specific field of study. Some students insist in learning knowledge can acquire classical wisdom to arm their thought. Thus, they would make choice on some fundamental fields such as mathematics or theoretical physics in the university. In another aspect, students who incline to take responsibility for themselves, their family and the whole society when they graduate from college would prefer to choose application fields, such as financial or economy. In addition, if the student’s terminal target for study is for the noble mind, in the other worlds, student who pursuit the self-conscience and the morality, will devoted himself in philosophy or psychology fields.

How to choose a field of study may confuse a large number of students who are going to attend college. A choice based on the availability of jobs in the field has become widely accepted by students considering the increasingly fierce competition in the job market. However, whether it is a good way to solve the major-choosing puzzle depends on the characteristic of students.

First, for those with high interest in a certain study field, it is a waste of talent and passion to choose a major out of the field of interest. Psychology research has already figured out that people tend to get interested in what they are good at. People can easily find examples of people who accomplish great work in a field that irritates great passion in them. Every industry has its heroes. There is no need to worry about job offers if someone can win the most in the industry and becomes the top.

Second, for students who has little interest in a certain field of study, it is not a wise choice to choose it as their major just because they think it is easy to find a job in it. It is hard to push oneself dip in a field without love. It is possible that they turned out to heat their major when the workload accumulates.

What’s more, if students are just confused about their interests, it may be a good way to think about the problem from the aspect of job availability. As a bright future in their career may encourage them to study hard in the field and as their hard work gets a positive feed back, they may get truly interested in their field of study.

To address the issue in the statement, we must clarify what it means to be a great nation and what is the indicator? Different people have diverse opinions. In special fields, such as military and polity, it is undoubted that rulers, scientists, and soldiers achieve the greatness of a nation. On the other hand, In the field of economy, the people general welfare represents the great nation because the development of a nation is measured by gross domestic product (GDP) which is closely related to resident average welfare.

In the field of military, a great nation is presented by the achievement of scientists and soldiers because the great nation should have a powerful military which presented by the technology of weapon and number of troops which is created by scientists and soldiers.

As for most of students, the aim of studying in the collage or university is to seek a job and earn money for the rest of the life. Thus, some people would hold the opinion that students should choice their study field depend on the availability of jobs in that field. Howevern, from my perspective, I do not think that opinion is always true because of the following reasons.

Firstly, I want to state that people can not simply establish the relationship between the jobs' availability and individual future career. In the other word, even if there are a lot of jobs avalible in a certain field, it does not means that you must gain one you are satisfied. Because it also depend on other factories. We can image that if a girl who is not interested in coding at all gain a high pay offer from Google, she will not be happy. On the contrary, I believe that she even want to do something interesting in her opinion. Besides, if students do not perform well in that field during university or collage, they would also in a negative position in jobs market.

Secondly, it is universially know that the job markets are constantly changing. So, it is hard to predict the availability of jobs in that field. That is to say, it makes no sense to choose study field depending on the job availibilit. Take the material science and engineering major as an example. Before 2008. due to lack of staffs, many car companies went to universities and recruted material major students. This situation simulated many people to learn that major. However, after 2008, a economy crisis, the car market was influenced greatly and the sell of cars largely decreased. Many material science students did not find jobs. From this example, we may draw a conclusion that the job availibility can not be predicted.

Thirdly, some people may go for the statement that collage students should make their choic by stating that if a field's job availability can indicate a need of the society. More jobs the companies provided, the more need the society. Thus, catering for the need may be benefit to the society. But in fact, many fields which  do not really need in this time do not means that our society do not need it.

To sum up, the choice of a field of study should not depend on the availability of jobs in that field because we can not predict the availability and can not attach it to individual future.

This statement remind me of a documentary I saw before-The Rise of the Great Powers, which discussed and argued the reasons behind the rise of great states. One of the scholars in the documentary concluded that the requirement of the rise of a state was that it possessed advanced minds. That’s exactly right. So it isn’t the general welfare but the achievements of rules, artists and scientists  that mark the greatness of a state.

After gaining the independence of Great Britain, the rulers of United States sets up an efficient government. The government is consist of three branches, namely Congress (the legislative part), president (the executive part), the courts (the judicial part).  Each branch of the government wields separate and different powers and it can stop one or both of the other branches from becoming too powerful. The three branches make sure that United States develop stably and fast.     
When look back the history of human being, we can see that the artists play a vital role during the process of the rise of a state.

In regard to the magic code of achieving a great nation, some people assign more significance to the general welfare than the achievements of its rulers, artists and scientists. To define which one plays a more important role, we need to define what a great nation means. A great nation can secure its citizens’ life and life quality, which cannot be attained without those achievements aforementioned. Therefore, I maintain that a balance of these two aspects needs to be constructed to make sure the existence of a great nation.

Improve the living quality
Make progress in military and technology
2. the significance of the general welfare
By the people of the people for the people
3. either these two can make sure the existence of the other

The recommendation claims that college students should choose a field of study based on the availability of jobs in that field. In my opinion, this recommendation is substantial if we consider that college students should consider their future jobs and what skills and ability that jobs need so that they can study necessary subjects and abilities. However, it is too myopic to ignore other seemingly irrelevant subjects.

There is no doubt that college students should choose their major based on their dream jobs, so that they could learn all the knowledge, abilities and skills which could help them capable of their dream jobs. Nowadays, there are tens of thousands of jobs and they are divided into different fields, therefore job division become more and more detailed which means different jobs require exactly different and various abilities. As a result, job market reversely promotes college to set more department and majors to accord with their needs. Consequently, this phenomenon directly forces students to consider their dream jobs to make a choice. So, it is reliable to recommend college students to choose their major based on their dream jobs.

However, the most useful ability that college students learn in college is not knowledge but the method of studying. Every year, there are many graduates finally find a job that have little to do with their majors or even is not relevant with their majors. Graduates have to learn many new things in order to be capable of their work and tasks. In this scenario, graduates will realize that in fact, knowledge they have studied in college is useless but the way of studying they have learned in college is useful. By the efficient method of studying new knowledge and skills, they could get along with a new field of jobs as soon as possible and get rid of confusion and hesitance in workplace.

Besides, although jobs are divided into different fields, many jobs are still interrelated. For example, architects need many fields of knowledge to become eminent professional architects. Apart from those who major in architecture during undergraduate, students from other fields like engineering, science and art, could also engage in architecture because knowledge of building, structural and civil engineering and aesthetic ability is necessary for an architect.
Therefore, studying a field of study which differs with the availability of future jobs in that field is also available.

In conclusion, from what have been discussed above, college students do not necessarily need to choose a field of study based on the availability of jobs in that field. If some people haven't decided what jobs they want to engage in after graduation, they could just choose to major what they are interested in, since studying a subject you like is much more pleasant than studying a dislike.

A strong social-welfare system is the material base for the individuals to pursue their artistic, scientific or political achievements. For a country where people remain at subsistance level, it is almost impossible for individuals to work on spiritual activities, let alone engaged in some creative field.

However, the counterproposition is not equally correct. In many circumstances, a country with well-managed welfare system cannnot be seen as a great country. The greatness of a country is largely depended on the core value of the society.
e.g.: In some authoritarian countries, personal characteristics of intelligence may often be sacrificed for a rapid economic growth.
In Middle East, national welfare relies heavily on natural resources, while the culture is conservative and in lack of innovation.

In the modern market-competing world, the trend of jobs-oriented gradually exacerbate. Some one draws an claim that college students should base their choice of a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field. It seems like a gronded and reasonable advice, but I have some different views. From my point, whether college students should chooce the field of study based on the availability of jobs in that field depending on their personal different conditions, which including the family conditions, the interests they have, and their life pursuits.
At first, let's talk about the family conditions. For those need to support their families right after their graduation, the availabillity of jobs in the field will play an more important role than others. These students already decides to find a job to make money, so besides the salary, the extent how easy to get a job, will totallly influence their ideas of choosing study field. One of my classmates even find part-time jobs both on weekdays and weekends, thanks to the availability of tutors.
Additionly, the intersts they have may induce the students to the different field natually. Some students who have zealots in subjects will decide their study field early and steadfastly. There are scientsis calling "the organic chemistry is the most beautiful subject in the world". Like Zuckerberg who created Synapse Media Player APP in high school, decided to major in psychology and computational science. In the other hand, some students who may don't have the zealots like these, will consider the availability of jobs in the field.
Besides, their life pursuits will comes to different sides. Some prefers to continue education and pursuit higher standard objects, such even like the Nobel prize, while others will pursuit a higher salavy and the availability of jobs in the field. The later will consider the availability more and the first one will not.
In conclusion, whether choose the study field based on the availability will depends on the personal conditions, the students who need to support the families, who don't find their interests, and who don't pursuit highest standard will consider the availability of jobs more. Even they may choose these study field ultimately, we should give them advice that the most important things to get a job is not the availability of the jobs field, but the ability of themselves.

Looking for jobs is always a main duty that college students will have to deal with. The jobs graduates have taken may related to their major. To choose majors depends on availability of jobs in that field is a good choice for students to study in college. A great number of available jobs in specific fields as IT, business analyst, web page designer are needed with the development of today’s society, choosing major is a significant choice that every student should comprehensively think through and then make up their mind.

To begin with, what you have study in college will affect your job searching. Some people might say personal interests should be considered as an important point for students to choose their major. In my point of view, I would consider interests as one of the significant factors that affects students’ choosing major.  

However, with combining their own personal interests with the society’s job vacancy, will be win-win for themselves and good match for future job searching. Under the background of the Big Data Base, computer science and related jobs have a great number of vacancy nowadays. By combining students’ own interests with choosing one of those fields related majors, not only students will enjoy their personal interests but also will get decent jobs.

Further more, a significant increasing number of jobs vacancy are appearing in 21 century. Such as business analyst, wine taster, library managing and so many other jobs. Nowadays, looking for a job is not as hard as before. With the society’s muti-culturism and innovations, more and more majors are created with its needs. To combine students’ own interests with the availability of the jobs fields is not a hard thing. Students may always look for a relevant major that related to their own interests. With the students’ personal interest of painting, they will be very welcome to choose the major of designers of fashion fields if they are interested in fashion, or indoor designer if they are interests in that. As the interests of painting, a lots of related majors with availability of jobs fields are available.

Additionally, the development of our society needs alternative majors which has made some jobs have a larger needs. As one part of the society, in order to make it better and develops faster, students as the future governors should take a honorable responsibility of building it. Since this reason, the major that students choose should also meet the needs with developments.
  
In conclusion, The alternatives of major are very appealing for students, and choosing the one with the fields of job availability makes a better choice for students and motivates the development of our society as well.

As the modern society becomes increasingly dependent on a skilled and knowledgeable workforce, it is proposed that, to encourage teachers to pursue teaching excellence, their salaries should be determined according to the academic performance of their students.  I strongly disagree with this proposal as this policy will lead to serious washback effects on teaching and prevent the students from developing in a well-rounded manner.  In addition, the policy is not unfair to teachers who cannot control all the factors that influence students’ academic performance.  

If the teachers receive their salaries based on their students’ scores in the exams, it is likely that teachers will focus primarily on preparing students for the high-stake exams.  
e.g exam-oriented education

Another problem with the proposed policy is that it forces teachers to promote academic excellence among students as the only goal for education.
e.g neglect to teach moral lessons to students, which is more essential for individuals.

Some people may argue that this policy will create financial incentives for teachers to work harder to help students do well in school and tests.

Going to university plays an important role in individuals’ path. A lot of parents try to push their children to be accepted by high-rank school to secure youngsters’ future. Most individuals suggest that students should chose major, which has required a lot of workers, because, to some extent, finding a job represent success. However, from my perspective, it depends on students’ family background, interests and ability.

To begin with, for students born with silver spoon, there is no need to worried about the foreground of their majors. It is likely that their families already have a company for them to inherit. According to a recent national study from Times, around 90 percent of the family business are inherited by the youngsters in the family. Admittedly, certain majors such as arts, acting and creative majors, might not have promising future, the students might not select their major by considering major’s future.

For needy students, who are taking loans to attend school, major in promising field might be a sagacious choice. Tuition fee of universities can be a lot to a lot of indigent family. Thus, the student must shoulder the responsibility to pay for the loans after graduation. Obama, for instance, had to take out loans for law school. In fact, he finally managed to pay back his loan when he was a middle age man. Hence if the students are facing huge financial problem, finding a promising major might be a sound idea.

Some people might argue that students must select certain jobs because it is good for their future. Admittedly, some fields might require a lot of workers for now, the need of the market might change after students graduate. A future of certain field is unpredictable. Couple years ago, artificial intelligence was not a hot topic at all, but, all of sudden, it became the most promising field of computer science. Thousands of engineers want to transfer into machine learning, but it is already too late to switch. The trend of certain field changes all the time.

In conclusion, it might be better if the students chose their majors based on their family background, their interests. Forcing thoughtful students to switch into a promising major is not viable. It is highly recommended that the university provides guidance, which allows students to pursue their dream.
