------正文------
Can the way people look, dress, and act reveal their attitudes or interests? From observing the appearance and behavior of its people, can we grasp a society's ideas or values, as the speaker contends? In my view, this is a case-by-case problem, may be there are indeed some aspects that can these be true, however, in contemporary society such cases becomes rare.
I concede that in a few cases we can be informed of some information about one's background. For example, in ancient China, especially in the Tang Period, a woman with obese figure was a symbol of beauty and indicated that she is a young lady of a wealthy family; whilst a thin girl can only be identified as a servant. Also if a society whose people are all wearing old patched clothes, there might be somewhat poverty for all the people in such a country or that a country which to some extent can be called a good habit of frugal. However, such cases can not be unfairly generalized the whole society’s ideas or values.
In contemporary society, the way people look, dress, and act are becoming increasingly similar. Accompany with the globalization penetrating into every country, myriads of distinct culture differences have becomes vague. For instance, shyness may be a characteristic for a traditional Chinese girl; however, a growing number of children today are pursuing the individualism which characterized western country. The same is when concerning about the wearing today, people are no more restricted to some principles which there may not have one for a democratic country, whilst wear what they are prefer according to the climate. To some extent, people around world are of the same taste of clothes for the chase of popularity is heating around world. Beside this, the escalating expands of some famous brands of clothes companies bring about the popular clothes which everyone can be bought nearly in every country. In the respect of behavior: in the ancient times, take western behaviors as example, men were required to be genteel, and women were asked to be as inwardly as possible. While, now it is not a strange to see a woman stride into an official room or a man behavior rudely which one cannot image.
Although the appearance may not be that distinct as before, the symbols of the valuable culture, such as the costume of minority in China, have always been cherished as the emblem of one’s unique culture. Even now every time the country convokes a conference of the delegation from minority, 56 different minorities with colorful distinct costumes can be saw in the palace of Tiananmen. The same pageantry scene can be found when a national traditional festival began. Form this we can see that even though the tradition has still existed in the world, they now belied by the veil of the impact of other main behavior or clothes rather than show them outwards.
In sum, it is difficult to recognize one's attitude and interest of him or her from their look, dress and act, and it will be harder for us to identify his or her society's ideas and values nowadays. In much more cases, people’s appearances and behaviors are result in individual’s preference rather than reflect a society’s value or idea.

I concede that in a few cases we can be informed of some information about one's background. Also if a society whose people are all wearing old patched clothes, there might be somewhat poverty for all the people in such a country which formed people to some extent can be called a good habit of frugal frugality.
