To contrast, I would like to say that the nonmainstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune-telling, and paranormal pursuits are much less valuable than mainstream science in benefiting our society and lives, but as to satisfying the needs of our human being, however, the nonmainstream areas really play a role.

First of all, those nonmainstream areas undoubtedly have a large market in our contemporary lives. Even though science is developed each day with people's effort on it, there are still many areas which our human being have not yet stepped in. In that case, it is proper for some nonmainstream areas-such as fortune-telling, astrology and psychic-appearing to fit the needs or desires for people's wondering about the unknown areas. By serving those, some people get satisfaction which they lack of, and some people, on the other hand, benefit through it. Those also benefit our society's stability.

In addition, those nonmainstream areas could never replace the mainstream science in improving society and living level of people. As we all known, it is the mainstream science, not other things, has brought such a rapid development for all our human being, even mistakes occur sometime. No wondering, if only the steam engine, the electric light, air-craft and etc are not invited yet, our world would not be such a comfortable place to live in. In contrast, that those nonmaisteam areas contribute little, if any, to our development, even indicates the value of mainstream science.

However, it is the mainstream science and nonmainstream areas together make our society much more comfortable and steadily. It’s true that the nonmainstteam science fills some areas, even are small, which mainstream science has not yet step in while developing itself. It really owns its role our lives while the mainstream science improves our lives level. The mainstream and nonmainstream science has together made our world a better place to live in.

To sum up, nonmainstream areas, even are less important than mainstream ones, do role a part in our lives, and we should consider their influence while admiring the great contribution of mainstream ones. After all, something existed always has its reason to do so.
