Academic disciplines have become so specialized in recent years that scholar’s ideas reach only a narrow audience. Until scholars can reach a wider audience, their ideas will have little use.
1 I disagree with the writer’s assertion. Although only a few of experts can understand the specialized knowledge in their own areas, those scholars contribute a lot to people’s life.
2 先让步承认对于比较专业的知识只有少数人能看懂，但是这并不影响人们享受这些研究成果。比如电影，电脑，喝酒 cosmetic surgery surgical operation 吃得饭等很少有人们了解产品的制作过程。
3 有些研究成果在研究的开始阶段比较晦涩难懂但是随着时间的发展普通人也能够了解。比如 Newton’s Three Laws of Motion ,还有Kuhn theory of paradigm produce far-reaching influence in social science . People in China also know this theory and use this theory to improve the development of psychology in China. However, when Kuhn first pointed out his theory only a few of people can understand it. When it comes to today, this power is prevailing all over the world. 现在就是很多人都知道的。但是刚开始的时候只有少数人才懂。如果因为开始只有少数人才懂就不研究，那么科技就很难发展。
4 专门化是必要的。现在的知识越来越多，每个人的时间和精力是有限的，这是的专门化是科技发展的必然结果。这样做可以节省人们的时间，更有利于促进人类的进步。
