TOPIC: ISSUE70 - "In any profession-business, politics, education, government-those in power should step down after five years. The surest path to success for any enterprise is revitalization through new leadership."

The speaker asserts that to success for any enterprise including business, politics, education, government, it is necessary to change leaders after each five years. In my point of view, I strongly agree with the author in this aspect. The reasons why I hold my opinion will be listed as follows.
To begin with, the leaders who were in power may become more and more corruption because "Power lead to corruption, and the absolute power lead to corruption absolutely." said by some famous people (and I paraphrase). Phenomenon like this always happens in every areas especially the government. For example, Chen Liangyu, the mayor of Shanghai several years ago, was desposed and sued because of the huge amount money of bribery he got in his years of tenure. Such typical cases are countless and everywhere. From a survey in China Daily recently, more than 800 malfeasants were uncovered last year just in a major city Nanchang of JiangxiProvince in China. Besides, most of these malfeasants had been in their positions over five years and made contribution more or less in the beginning of their jobs. Washington, who is the first president of the USA, rejecting to reappoint for the third time was a good example for the leaders in power who consider the overall situation more than personal benefit. From above, add fresh energy to the key positions and change the leaders in power are critic in preventing corruption and making success.
In addition, the same logic is running in other fields such as business, education and sports. As we know, with the fast developing of technologies and society, any company should reset its strategy and managing model to meet the changing needs of market. In such case, if one chief executive was in the power of leadership too long like more than five years, it is possible that he/she may probably fails to catch up with the fluky condition of business world. For instance, the famous family industry Mitsubish of Japan hired a CEO from abroad instead of handing down to the generations to run the company only considered of the capacity. It is highly wise and gutty to hand the family industry to other persons to govern it. Thus, from this angle, we could notice that other areas like business need to refresh the leadership as well.
All in all, from what I mentioned above, it is comfortable to arrive at the conclusion that the surest path to success for any enterprise is revitalization through new leadership just as the speaker said in this issue.
