大家好!!
我现在在美国读本科,大一刚刚上完!
因为美国学费现在感觉越来越厉害了,,而且我粤语说的很好!
我想问问,从美国的大学转学回来香港的大学,,现实吗?
我是读business的,第一学期GPA3.83,第二学期只有3.333,总的来说是3.567，，
香港的大学本科学制正在从3年转变到4年，，这样学分方面转过来应该问题不大吧?
另外还想问问,,转学到香港的大学读本科,需要些什么东西呢?
我高考成绩不算高,但是也上了国内重点线,,
美国的大学排名不靠前,,100内,本科商业排名30多名,,我的concentration排名在美国很考前,14名,
这样转回来香港大概能转到些怎么样的学校?谢谢!

I know several under grad transfer students in HKUST, seems around 20 ~ 30 people, only 2 from Tsinghua U and 1 from Peking U, the others are all from top 100 US Universities like Boston College, CMU, UCLA, Wisconsin-Madison, UC-San Diego, Notre Dome, USC....Even one from MIT. Most of them are enrolled in Business School and remaining are in Engineering Department, no science student. They said their con-offers require GPA above 3.5 for US Universities, 80 for Tsinhua and 85 for Peking....wish can help

以下是香港大学HKU的回信,看得出人非常的nice,
看来转学过去是有希望的,而且有late applications,但是机会是很少的,
他们对于非本地学生的学费是HKD$100,000/年,可以转学分,
但是undergrad要毕业,必须在HKU学够一定学分才可以.
目前就知道这些情况!貌似香港的大学会接受转学生的只有香港大学/香港科技大学/香港理工大学,
而且只有HKU有late applications ,,,
看来我就只有在美国好好继续读了,因为HKU没有Entrepreneurship这个课,,,
还是谢谢大家啦~

Thank you for your email.

Please apply through the Non-JUPAS admissions scheme
(http://www.hku.hk/admission/nonjupas.htm) for a transfer. For entry to the
University in September 2009 through Non-JUPAS admissions scheme, please note
that we are now accepting late applications for some of our programmes. Please
refer to our Non-JUPAS admissions website for information about the basic
entrance requirements, courses offered and application procedures.

Advanced standing may be granted to students in recognition of studies completed
successfully elsewhere which can be in terms of credit transfer or direct entry
(Year 2 or above).

Students who wish to be considered for Year 2 or credit transfer should indicate
their preference by completing the relevant section in the Non-JUPAS
application form ( i.e. section 7: Transfer of Credits).
There is no additional requirement other than the basic entrance requirements of
the University, however candidates are expected to have completed certain
number of credits on undergraduate level in the same area of studies in an
accredited university.

The number of credits that can be transferred to the University will be
considered by the relevant Faculty/Department after their admissions to the
University.

看上去理工大学的要求好像比较低,只需要有英语成绩即可,
另外,香港的大学一般不接受大二之后的学生入学,
也就是说,转学生必须是已在其它大学完成大一学业,准备转学到香港的大学进修大二和大三课程,
而不能已经在其它大学完成了大一和大二课程才转学.

这是最近几天收集回来的资料,希望对以后大家的申请有帮助!
由于本人已经完成大一课程,而且大多数学校的申请已经过了deadline,
本人只能决定放弃转学到香港的大学而继续在美国读了!

香港大学有交换生计划，如果和你的学校有合作，你如果申请来交换一年，可以节省一年美国学费。

because the tuition fees in US are so expensive, one may need 1-2 million RMB to finish a bachelor degree.

In fact, you still have other options to survive in the states.
1.Transfer to another school with some financial aids or simply lower tuition, just make sure the cost there will be lower than here.
2.I reckon you haven't completed your lower level courses yet. Just take them in a nearby community college, which will cost you only a fraction of what you are currently paying for.
3.If you can speed up the process of you degree plan by taking courses in cc in the summer or even concurrently, you can probably think about bumping to graduate early. Most schools in the states have flat tuition policy, which encourages students to take as many credits as they can. For example, the price you pay for 12 credits and 19 credits may be the same.

Graduate in 3 years, sounds good?

At least in many cases, students pay tuition to their home school at the same rate. This is welcomed by in-state students enrolled in their state universities because the in-state tuition they pay is usually less.

I have the same situation here.. Now studying at Penn State University(rank 48)...and I HAVE applied HKBU as an Non-Jupas this year already...but still not sure about my chance of admission..
